Chalermpong Saengdee, a Member of Parliament for Phuket, has raised concerns over a foreign ladyboy allegedly offering illegal travel packages on a beach. The incident surfaced after Chalermpong shared a video on his Facebook page, depicting the individual approaching tourists and displaying something on her phone. The nationality of the person remains unknown, but she is suspected of working illegally as a tour guide, a role exclusively reserved for Thai citizens.

The video, sent to Chalermpong by a local resident, highlights longstanding frustrations among Phuket locals who claim that the illegal employment of foreigners is a persistent issue. They argue that this is not an isolated incident, pointing to what they perceive as routine violations of employment laws designed to protect Thai workers. The MP emphasized the necessity of enforcing these laws strictly to safeguard occupations for Thai nationals.

Local reactions to the video were overwhelmingly critical, with many expressing dissatisfaction over perceived inaction by authorities. Comments on Chalermpong’s post included accusations of indifference by law enforcement and allegations of bribery. Some locals reported sightings of other foreigners working in the area, which adds to the growing discontent on this issue.

Looking forward, the incident raises questions about the enforcement of employment laws in Phuket and the effectiveness of current regulations in protecting local jobs. While the video portrays clear evidence of the foreign ladyboy's actions, it remains unclear whether she will face any legal consequences. This situation highlights the need for decisive action by authorities to address the challenges of illegal employment and maintain trust among residents.

Key Takeaways

  • A Phuket MP has accused a foreign ladyboy of offering illegal tour services.
  • Locals express frustration at ongoing violations of job restrictions for foreigners.
  • There is an urgent call for stricter enforcement of employment laws in the region.

If you are doing sth that is even remotely suspicious, someone will be filming you.

At least we can rule out that it's an Israeli since they don't have ladyboys there, right?

They do face a lot of discrimination in Israel sadly.

Trans individuals in Israel face a complex situation with legal protections alongside significant social stigma and discrimination

. While legal gender marker changes are possible and the military has policies to support transgender service members, transgender people experience high rates of unemployment, harassment in schools, and discrimination in healthcare. Community and activist efforts are crucial, with many advancements secured through legal challenges and advocacy.

  • Public Opinion and Discrimination: Despite legal protections, a 2022 poll found that two-thirds of Israelis feel society is not tolerant of the trans community, and a third are unwilling to work or study with transgender people. Employers reported that religious beliefs and fear of customer reactions were barriers to hiring trans people.
  •
  • Political Climate: The political climate can be mixed, with some high-level government officials openly expressing homophobic and transphobic views, leading to concerns among the community about the future of their rights.

I think the correct term is 'non national transgender.......'  🙂

That's definately competition on two counts

I'd be happy if she could be my private tour guide any day! I'm a generous tipper too 🙂

from the short Video I cannot see if it's a "chick with d..." !

Foreigners, farangs, falangs or whatever – this seems to be an increasingly frequent subject of racist remarks by some politicians in Thailand. What a welcoming country that depends on tourists because otherwise it can hardly manage anything.:clap2:
