American Tourist Warns Others After Black Henna Incident in Bangkok

An American tourist, Nick Nayersina, has issued a warning following a holiday in Bangkok that turned painful after he received a black henna face tattoo on a night out. He experienced a severe allergic reaction—blistering and oozing on his face—and may face permanent scarring. The root cause is likely black henna’s chemical additive paraphenylenediamine (PPD), which is banned for skin use in many Western countries but still used in some tourist-market applications. Medical professionals cautioned that the risk of long-term damage is real, especially when travellers are unaware of local safety standards.

So, if I read this correctly, the guy gad a bight out in Bangkok and voluntarily decided (he was not forced into having a face tattoo and had a bad reaction to it, It does not say if he had been tattooed before, nor does it mention if he has an allergy to the black tattoo ink.

WHY are we supposed to feel sorry for him, and why is he complaining about something that is most probably his own fault anyway.

People should have to pass an intelligence test before being issued with a passport.
