My apologies, it was a natural reaction to your question. You have that effect on people.

You are talking to a computer screen. Your behaviour is on you. Not to worry. I see you have no idea about road trips.

What region?

Rent a car and take the time exploring for a couple months in a region, you’ll never see it all so may as well take it slow and easy.

Start Udon.

Option 1 MHS and Nan

Option 2 Chantaburi

You will need to decide that for yourself. Personally would choose an amendable loop route depending on how much time. ?

I was going to say, head south for better AQI, but apparently no necessary, though finding all that green hard to believe.  Rainy season does seem to quite long this year.

And we're showing the worse area to be  :cheesy:

Follow the Sukhumvit to the end.

As you get to the end (narrowest point in Thailand) it follows the coast.

Great views

Better to hit the water instead and nothing better than cruising around on 2 wheels to experience that feeling of freedom and fresh air. Naturally you will want to choose a coastal route so that you can see and smell the open ocean. Then pick any solid pier you can find, long or short (it matters little) get the throttle wide open, tear down it at full speed and whatever you do, do not stop at the end. When we never hear from you again, we'll know you reached Nirvana. Thank me later.

Ha ha, yes, it narrows heading down the peninsular.

I read somewhere that the Thai, Cambodia border is the narrowest.

Do know if this is true?

The Mynamar, Thai border looks much wider.

Khao Yai is very nice.  About 2 to 3 hours from BKK.

Or, get to CM and rent a car drive to Nan.

That's only 11 kms wide.   Kind of nice for us, as we're just north of, also thin section (<15 kms).  Have the surf & rolling hills <10 mins away.

Snow Sand Kitchen is nice spot for a munch, as tallest peak in TH is right there.  Food & pricing is OK, if in the hood.

Other side (Cambo) near border check point, it's less than 1 km, I think.

You can see an island out in the gulf @ 10 seconds ...
