You are right, that is a crazy price, I'm sure you can do quite a bit better than that if you shop around. You might want to check with Thai Visa Centre in Bangkok as well.

What is your issue.

In case you missed my previous post here.

https://aseannow.com/topic/1354256-i-need-names-of-visa-agents-in-pattaya/

All the agents are listed.

Chat with various agents or consider DIY Non O + extensions.

+1 for Maneerat.................used them twice, very professional and knowledgeable. Their prices will always be fair.

Yes - it froze-solid years ago.  And, with every "crackdown," they just pile more blocks of corruption-ice on-top. See ...

I was quoted 50k by an agent for the first 15 months. I asked why the price had shot up and was told it was because of the crackdown on visa exempt entries. In other words: GREED!

This guy had an experience in BK , Wattana, doing extension NON O retirement.

It seems not only exemption has problem, also NON O.

He is using it to stay in Thailand, 6 months.

It was time again for the extension of my Non-Immigrant "O" (retired) visa, the re-entry, and the 90-day notification. I had made appointments with all three departments for December 4th, starting at 10:00 AM with the extension officer. So, with high hopes, I headed to Chang Wattana, the immigration office in Bangkok, on December 4th.

First, I went to the bank branch in the same building for a bank statement and to update my bank account. Then, we arrived an hour early at counter L1, queue number 1102, to see the extension officer. There was no record of our arrival for our appointment, and until 10:00 AM, it turned out to be a walk-in counter for visa agencies with their clients. A few minutes after 10:00 AM, it was our turn, albeit frequently interrupted by the immigration officer's other duties.

After a while, it became clear that, according to them, there was a problem with my bank account and passport. The name didn't match. According to immigration, the bank account should also include the first names as they appear in the passport. This wasn't the case. The bank account only listed the surname, not the first names. This had never been a problem before.

My Thai wife then went to the bank branch to resolve this, but they couldn't print a new bank account because the name, including the first names, was too long. Back to immigration again, and after much back and forth, we were granted the extension this time, with a very rare exception. However, for the next time, we need to ensure the bank records the name on the bank account according to this new requirement.

Because all this took so long to get my passport back, we arrived late at the re-entry department. Fortunately, we were helped quickly there. The same was true for the 90-day department, although we were just too late to have the report processed before lunch. This meant an extra hour of waiting, after which we were helped immediately after lunch.

When I asked, we were told that I would also have to submit the next report in person at the office. Online applications are no longer accepted. This means two 400 baht taxi fares, half a day's travel time, and a visit.

I've omitted my thoughts on this whole affair, though they undoubtedly saw it on my face, especially at the L1 counter. They might even have seen the smoke coming out of my ears. Because I had already been irritated by the very unfriendly attitude of the extension department during previous visits, I now let my wife do the talking.

After this visit, I'm seriously considering not submitting any more extensions, re-entries, or 90-day applications in the future, but applying for a new visa at the embassy annually and getting an additional 60 days at the end of those 90 days with a border run. This way, I can avoid further contact with Chang Wattana Immigration. I never stay in Thailand for more than six months anyway, so in that respect, it doesn't really matter to me. Or am I wrong about the 60 days after a border run? And is it wise to base your travel planning partly on a border run?

Finally, a comment about the TM30, which wasn't answered or returned by immigration. Since we were already at immigration and had to wait a long time, my wife went to inquire about her TM30 notification. Sections TM47 (90 days) and TM30 had been moved, but to the same room.

After some insistence, they went looking for my wife's TM30 notification. Eureka! After twenty minutes, it was found in a sealed envelope, ready to be mailed. When I asked why the envelope hadn't been sent yet, my wife was told that instead of the regular 10 baht postage, she could have paid 32 baht so the postal service would process the letter faster. To emphasize her point, the immigration officer even wrote this amount on the envelope.

Oh. So now it's suddenly the Thai postal service's fault that immigration isn't doing its job properly, or at all. When I heard this, it wasn't just smoke coming out of my ears.

Almost every sentence indicates lack of knowledge and preparation for extension.

You attended CW which is most organised office by far and you had issues.

Why do others not have same experience.

I cant tell you anything further about this. I know the guy is doing Thailand many times, as you also can read.

This is his latest experience. No clue why others dont have problem and he does.

Im just a messenger, dont kill me.

Maybe the IO's have problems or whatever.

It is the same as with the girl, she cant come in on Don Mueang, but can come in on other airport, without any issues.

You drive to fast in Thailand, you get a fine. A Thai drives to fast and there is no problem.

This alone makes the entire story not credible.
