MTG explains, clearly and strongly, why she is resigning from Congress effective on Jan 5th. Whilst not an admirer, I can see the point she is making and why she has decided to go - after all, whatever political colour one might be, who could work with Trump and remain a rational or well intentioned Person ??

 

Respect ! I wonder if we have seen the last of her in Politics ? Somehow I doubt it and wish her well . . . . .

She has most obviously been positioning herself for a statewide run in 2026. Senate or Gov. Further into the future she will be well positioned for a Whitehouse run. Her transition from Jewish space lasers to core populism is surprisingly well thought out.

This feels like quite an astonishing development, a once very close confidant and supporter of Trump is resigning her position. It feels as if we're seeing cracks in the wall and the level of dissent from Trump's iron grip on the party seems to be building. Perhaps some people are coming to their senses and just not buying into his daily dose of nonsense anymore?

Perhaps there are some people out there that actually recognize truth and prefer it over simplistic and nonsensical distortions? 

 

I have never liked her very much, but I sure admire her for doing this, and for breaking ranks with Trump over Epstein and other issues.

This is an attempt to recover from a strategic political miscalculation. She was playing with fire and was burnt. Now she is trying to repackage herself as a hero as she prepares to pursue another office.  This woman has not seen the light, nor has she recanted her previous fabrications and distortions of fact. Nasty opportunistic and unprincipled.  Good riddance.

She's certainly considering it, but I believe she needs to clean up her rep and run for something a little lower than POTUS like governor.
