Trump fails at his game of revenge

For some of us who were beginning to think that Trump's attempt to subvert justice by enacting vengeance against his political foes and those who engaged in former prosecutions against him might succeed, great relief comes from the tossing out of these petty attempts to turn the courts into his monkey kingdom. Trump loses, yet again. November has been a month to remember, for those of us who object to his style of ancient royal dominion. Not gonna happen, Don. Democracy actually works. You are not the dictator you wish you could be.

A federal judge dismissed the indictments against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James on Monday. The judge found that President Donald Trump’s appointment of interim US Attorney Lindsey Halligan in Alexandria, Virginia, was invalid.

Trump handpicked Halligan for the role amid increasing pressure to bring criminal cases against his political enemies, including Comey and James. The Attorney General’s attempt to install Ms. Halligan as Interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was invalid,” Judge Cameron McGowan Currie wrote in her Monday order.

According to Currie, “all actions flowing from Ms. Halligan’s defective appointment” including the indictments against Comey and James “were unlawful exercises of executive power and are hereby set aside.”

Comey stated "I’m grateful that the court ended the case against me, which was a prosecution based on malevolence and incompetence and a reflection of what the Department of Justice has become under Donald Trump, which is heartbreaking,” he said. “But I was also inspired by the example of the career people who refuse to be part of this travesty. It cost some of them their jobs, which is painful, but it preserved their integrity, which is beyond price.”

The clown fails at 99% of everything it touches.   As long as you suck up to him ,you in the good books, the moment you cross him   ,you are the lowest and worst person in the world. Just look at MTg  and all the other losers that were with him at one stage of his political career.

Cool and hope he moves on to things that matter.  Not holding my breath but it hasn't been all that bad in 2025.  Eventually we will have a recession and he will be the cause -555.  He'll do stupid things he seems to enjoy and at time are entertaining, and without a doubt pundits will place huge importance to all his shenanigans.  Fun times if you don't take it all too serious and pretend you have it figured out how it will all end.

It seems like nothing can stop the US economy as long as cash is easy to come by and the world keeps ignoring debt.  I just sit on the sideline waiting for the likely  day of reckoning as the Presidency's pass hands and we seem to never reach the debt tipping point.  Can't wait for his next beautiful bills.

Well said.  There are lots of things that matter to ordinary Americans, no American that I personally know cares one jot about Comey.  They do care about getting rid of DEI and illegals, and the cost of their day-to-day lives.

OK so that’s what you personally care about.

He has a reading comprehension problem as well as a delusional vision of himself.  He is one of the most ineffectual and boring posters on this forum and it has nothing to do with his politics which I can agree with at times.  Some are  not equipped to participate in anything that resembles a rational discussion.  Hmm, I guess I don't like him....

Well, Trump fails on getting prices down. Inflation is higher today than the day he took office.

As for DEI, he seems to have his own DEI policy, hiring incompetents and morons. I guess maybe it's unfair (?) that people who lost the Birth Lottery should be denied things like Chief of the Eastern District of VA DoJ office?

As for "caring about illegals", what you really mean is brown people, and people who don't work for Trump at his golf courses or Mar-a-Lago (where he employed undocumented workers at least until 2017).

"Illegals" who are, for example, white and in the Russian Mafia are okay. ICE will never go after them. No raids in Brighton Beach or Trump Tower on 5th Ave so far.  Also, Trump isn't really serious about domestic lawbreakers, because not a single company owner employing the undocumented workers has been charged with anything. THAT is the demand that motivates people south of the border to try to enter the US. If nobody hired them, few would come.

But hey, some of those company owners employing undocumented workers may well be from the Donor Class. Can't upset them.

unfortunately the majority of his misdeeds will only come out after his presidency is over, thus to late to prosecute/jail him

He's protected by conservative SC judges' decisions, anyway!
