But not all over-stayers have Interpol red notices.

Correct, for some another reason

  • Just another bad egg with a Swedish nationality. Hopefully he gets what he deserves now.    Traditionally, kind of yes. However, that was long time ago and connected to the age of the Vikings

  • Typical swede behavior. Ban them from Thailand

So the arrest took place because some Pattaya Plod recognised someone who resembled a photo on an Interpol red  notice?  I am impressed.

No, a Red Notice is not an "international arrest warrant" as there is no such thing (with the exception of the limited jurisdiction European Arrest Warrant).   It is, as the rest of your post described, just an advisory notice to member police forces who can act on it or ignore it.  Interpol is not a police force and does not have powers of arrest.

Anyway, he is a disgrace to Sweden and should be stripped out of his nationality

Another irrational suggestion that cannot happen to a citizen solely of Sweden.

Captured after he had entered Thailand and after receiving information.. otherwise he would have been yet another over-stayer.

But not all over-stayers have Interpol red notices.

But visitors entering Thailand VE are not checked with the Interpol database.

Why the need to go through this palaver? If he's overstayed here in LOS, why can't he simply be sent packing on the next flight to Stockholm?

Well, I guess it's about time "Sweden" got on the arrest scoreboard.

I admit, I would have much rather had a cute Swedish blonde instead.

You think with all this red notice through Interpol do you think they can catch the Red Bull kid oh that’s right they really don’t wanna catch him he’ll be back once his period of immunity is free and clear he’ll be back driving a Ferrari TIT

Yes, Interpol issued a "red notice," which is an international arrest warrant, for Vorayuth Yoovidhya, the Red Bull heir accused in a fatal 2012 hit-and-run accident. The notice is a request to police around the world to locate and provisionally arrest him pending extradition.
  • Reason for notice: The notice was issued in connection with a 2012 hit-and-run incident in Bangkok that resulted in the death of a police officer.
  • Last major development: Thai police issued a new arrest warrant in August 2020 and Interpol issued a new "red notice" shortly after, following public outrage over dropped charges.
  • Details of the notice: A Red Notice is a request to police forces worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest an individual pending extradition.
  • Status: The notice is still active, and Thai authorities are working to have Yoovidhya returned to Thailand to face charges.

Always got to be someone to flog that dead horse... do you need ointment for the butthurt ?

He definitely looks like Swedish DOCTOR or ENGINEER

If these bigots are going to define Swedish Nationality by vague pseudoscientific concepts such as "race" and "culture" I reject it.

As far as I am concerned if  "Mr. N"  holds a valid Swedish passport he is just as Swedish as Ingemar Stenmark.

A criminal Swede who never should have been let into the Kingdom in the first place. Time to re-think visa free travel.

Once detained on overstay, unlike in Western nations, Thailand insists the overstayer pay for their own flight, transport to the airport and the overstay fine. Potentially the Swedish government could foot the bill.

There is also the issue of being forcibly sent over a border if the overstayer refuses to return and extradition proceedings have not taken place. This could lead to any criminal proceedings in Sweden being thrown out.

For context, Ani-Frid Lyngstad just celebrated her 79th birthday.

Actually she is Norwegian, had to move to Sweden as young child as the father was a German soldier during the occupation. My classmate in junior high was a cousin and she lived there.

Just another Swede criminal. Ban them
