Is Hegseth guilty of extra judicial killing?

That is so totally untrue, people with an objective mind are willing to criticize the politician whoever they are and whatever side they're on if their policy is ridiculous. During the 20 years that Clinton, Obama and Biden were presidents, I never hesitated to criticize their policies and I very often did so.

I see very little of that coming from the MAGA devotees, especially on this forum.

This statement is incorrect. The left defended it. The only individuals who discussed it were the librarians.

Again, how would you know since you were not a member then.

But your claim is incorrect, please substantiate. Which you can't.

You know, I am starting to agree with the Democrats on this.

It was a waste of a valuable missile to kill the two survivors of the initial strike. A waste of assets, and also far too humane. It would have been better to leave them alone on the high seas, to drown or die of thirst or be eaten by sharks.

They should be thanking the US military for being merciful.

Just more deflection and an utter and complete refusal to take responsibility for your own lack of independent thinking.

When you mentioned independent thinking, I couldn't help but laugh. You struggle to think for yourself.

Coming from a loyal MAGA supporter that kind of accusation carries very, very little weight.

After the Post’s report, Hegseth said Friday on X that “fake news is delivering more fabricated, inflammatory, and derogatory reporting to discredit our incredible warriors fighting to protect the homeland.”

Was it a lawful order? Are the people that actually fired the shots guilty?

The classified sessions with Bradley, alongside the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, provided fresh information at a crucial moment as Hegseth’s leadership comes under scrutiny. But they did little to resolve growing questions about the legal basis for President Donald Trump’s extraordinary campaign to use war powers against suspected drug smugglers. So far more than 80 people have been killed in some 20 strikes.

Or as Ms. Karoline Leavitt has said elsewhere:

Boys will be boys.

What say the deniers now? The disclosed video clearly shows 2 struggling survivors before follow up strike.

Anything to add "Maybe State Dept." ?

Weird that no attempt has ever been had to capture a fisherman and find out where the fish originated from.

Yes weird, the 'kill all' policy here is strange. The odd capture of a these speedboats with living personel would not be hard to do with all the US Navy power in the region, gather some information ( possibly a little bribe in cash to gather information ) where is their immediate destination?  Where are boats being launched from ?

The US could close in on the roots and locations of their speedboat operations.......

Maybe they can but it seems so far they aren't.

Maybe all the smuggling schemes will fall apart if the owners of the boats blown up try to collect insurance.

Get some folks that are breathing, gather intel, possibly a transit country involved prior to USA, obliterate the piers they are leaving from, obliterate transit stops, protect the homeland.....

.This is the contact page for USSOCOM and Adm. Bradley in Tampa. They may appreciate your suggestions

But if they blow up all the piers, the fishermen may not be able to offload their tuna.

They’d have it soon enough. The massive investigation that followed—led by the task force, with some 700 FBI agents worldwide ultimately joining in—quickly uncovered a key bit of evidence. In the rubble investigators uncovered a vehicle identification number on a piece of wreckage that seemed suspiciously obliterated.

A search of our crime records returned a match: the number belonged to a rented van reported stolen the day before the attack. An Islamic fundamentalist named Mohammad Salameh had rented the vehicle, we learned, and on March 4, an FBI SWAT team arrested him as he tried in vain to get his $400 deposit back.

One thing you can count on with Petie is consistency, so anytime he refers to the fake news he means truth that he simply doesn't like, and truth that is contrary to his narrative.

It was the Admiral's fault, we didn't know anything about it, as usual we are not guilty.

And do you think Don or Petie would care one iota about normal hard-working, honest people trying to make a living?

Response from Ms. Leavitt:

Ain't no tuna -- it's all drugs destined to poison the homeland.

Perhaps addressing consumption might be a good place to start? That would be a very rare thing for this administration because it involves going to the source of the problem rather than a Band-Aid approach.

Banter aside, this from the (FAKE) Washington Post via https://archive.ph/zAYpI#selection-663.0-663.250

Calling for help could indicate the men were still able to move drugs, but it doesn’t make them combatants who pose a threat and can be killed, said Todd Huntley, a former military lawyer who advised Special Operations forces on the law of war for seven years. “It’s a pretty flimsy argument,” said Huntley, now director of the national security law program at Georgetown Law.

“There was no boat. There was wreckage. There was no radio. There were two guys clinging to a tiny non-awash portion of the keel of a capsized boat,” said one lawmaker familiar with Thursday’s congressional briefings and the video that was shown.

Military leaders told lawmakers that they assessed the survivors might “look” for a radio, the person said. But it’s hard to see how they could after the first strike, the person said. The boat was consumed by a “massive conflagration — then it capsized,” the person said.
