Huh? Houdini certainly might have been able to cuff his hands behind his back, but I don't think the average person could. I think that 99% of the police departments around the world would conclude foul play. Thailand is one of the few places in the world where the police would even suggest self-inflicted harm, and how much do you think that has to do with PR and tourism? 

depending on one's stature, can quite easily cuff at the front and step through; however the photo shows it to be more of a full body plastic bag that is either taped, folded or tied.

I recall a time at the Nana Hotel, down the Soi, where there used to be a bar and restaurant managed by some Swiss guys. Depended on the volume in the bag. 

 

I also managed to pass out by static breath hold, so it is just about how much you want it. And a suicidal candidate who have studied how to do it, with succes, knows what he or she have to do. A lot better than jumping from an high rise building or inside an shopping mall. 

 

Anyway, what happened here, and the motives is just speculation.

Yep agree with Soi PO being a good place those days. Wild Elephant and Groupies place and Spinneys and the little bookshop opposite (which amazingly is still there).

Wayne was the first one I remember but 2 more afterwards that I also remember using the same tactic.

Anyway enough reminiscing and back to present day.

Another thing that was far more disgusting is that there are pictures of Phuket after the tsunami.  The number of bodies was staggering and the photos are primarily of white tourists, not locals.  I had no idea how bad it was until seeing those photos.
