Yep. Obvious suicide. Hands cuffed behind own back and plastic bag tied over the head is a very popular form of suicide. What a ridiculous statement.

Yes, it did seem they were very anxious to call it a suicide and move on.

B0llocks, it did not seem that way at all, just the opposite in fact.  The word "suicide" was not even referenced in the article.

A bag over his head and handcuffs BEHIND his back makes them conclude self harm?  🤔

No one concluded self-harm...except AN posters who wrongly claim that is what the police said.

Are they implying that he did it himself

No, they're not, they're investigating and that is a possibility and why shouldn't it be?

Seems sad that guys come to the land of smiles to commit suicide 😢

That doesn't seem to be the case at all.

I don't think Carradine had a bag over his head either. That sounds like the CIA ...

The humor police just couldn't resist it eh?

I'm not surprised lots of braggers and showoffs members on Asean🤣

Didn't a famous Hollywood actor meet a similar fate at a Bangkok Hotel (closet)?

That was Bill, he "master bates" himself to death, and in Bangkok of all places on Earth for God's sake. He couldn't get laid?

The AN braintrust is once again calling for blood but the Geezer was probably getting his freak on and things got out of hand. Or maybe, being American, he had some dirt on the Clintons.

or Kevin Spacey lol.  Dude had 3 accusers die before his cases went to trial in same year.

describes arriving at a Pattaya flat and seeing a  handcuffed Brit

with a bag over his head and left a note He also drank a bottle of

local whisky .

Police suggest that the 69-year-old American man was found with his hands cuffed behind his back and his head covered with a black plastic bag, indicating the possibility of unconventional self-inflicted harm,

Huh? Houdini certainly might have been able to cuff his hands behind his back, but I don't think the average person could. I think that 99% of the police departments around the world would conclude foul play. Thailand is one of the few places in the world where the police would even suggest self-inflicted harm, and how much do you think that has to do with PR and tourism?

I saw a short documentary on FACEBOOK about the worst 7 countries in the world to retire in.

Thailand was on the list.

Pattaya was named the worst city in the world, so yes tourists do read these reports and it's affecting tourism numbers in Thailand seriously.

Suicide deaths requires not much investigation and they are very suspicious, especially ones like this which should be investigated as foul play, it's a no brainer.

Thailand does not rank all that high on this list.

This dumb narrative is trotted out in every news thread. As if Brazilian or Mexican cops are upstanding and straight

They never called it a suicide. They said it appeared to be unconventional self harm

I'd be banned for posting it. Use a VPN and the Yandex browser if you want to find anything online that isn't sanitized and woke.

Another thing that was far more disgusting is that there are pictures of Phuket after the tsunami.  The number of bodies was staggering and the photos are primarily of white tourists, not locals.  I had no idea how bad it was until seeing those photos.

I've never seen these and cant find them even with Yandex. Where does a guy look

Any Dick and their dog can make a list. Thailand ranks high on desirable destinations far more than it ranks low. What brings you to a Thailand related forum if its such a sh** hole ? Is it Boyztown or something ?

Their economy is not reliant on tourism like Thailand.

I recall many incidents where the police/govt downplayed negative issues - the most blatant was when they demanded the press stop reporting about some fake bombs planted on Phuket as it was affecting tourism.

Not sure what city or location ranks #1 for foreigners and crime Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Samui, Full Moon Party Dip$hit island, Koh Tao or Chiang Mai . Why in the F would anyone want to visit or live in these crime dumps?

I've been here 23 years and Pattaya and Phuket are <deleted> holes.

Also crime here is gettng worse all the time, also expensive, with falungs being targeted with high prices. That's fact and the high Bhat is also fact. I personally stay away from Phuket and Pattaya and l look after my wife and son, have good friends and stay away from the growing <deleted> holes developing in Thailand these days, that's why it's on the list and that's why tourists numbers are dropping, that's sadly fact. Dead bodies in Phuket and Pattaya are everyday occurrences now and all called suicide, that's also fact, these places are now full of deadbeats and drug dealers.

Unfortunately NZ is becoming a very difficult place to live, regulated to death and full of corruption, NZ police are under the Hammer at present for corruption, its a sad world everywhere today, so the answer is yes I would rather stay here than NZ and don't plan on going back.

Sad to hear that. While I haven't visited in a long time, and when I was regularly going there, it was just the North island, it was wonderful place to me. People were also really nice.

Did not expect it to turn that way... but I guess I should. Why would it be any different than the rest of the World...

I honestly don't get why so many of you are so vocal and are so committed to the "THAILAND IS THE WORST " narrative. Especially when you've admitted that it is all relative and New Zealand isn't the land of milk and honey either.

I'm glad I spent a month in New Zealand in the early 2000's. It has probably gone full zombie since , like most north American cities
