Today, day 44 of my trip I started with visiting Tea Terraces Viewpoint in Singha Park, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/rc1FZUPxEjmfsCiU8

From here I started riding around exploring, but the security were keeping off places I wanted to ride, so I disappeared up a side road and onto tracks, eventually finding this place by accident. Emerald Bamboo Hermitage, Venerable Luang Pu Dabos Sumano, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/CNszH96uDtQ7x28y9

Basically, a small temple on a small hill in the jungle shinning gold.

Other buildings too but I just went to the temple, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/CNszH96uDtQ7x28y9

Next was Reservoir 50, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/ChmEprxdYggURd6fA

Next stop was Wat Phra That Ko Kaeo, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/bzBvegAWhjU3wzyu6

Next was the weir at Electric water pumping project at Ban Farm pumping station.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/6pZXY3cyaAHjPNyq8

From here I rode across the weir and back to the city.

Today I rode north of Nan looking for riverside viewpoints, the first stop was at Ruaysuk Beach (rich in happiness beach.)

https://maps.app.goo.gl/RpSDdrhcDJwJBTEE9

You have to ride through an orchard to get there, usually there is seating in the river, today there was nothing there.

From here I rode to Rafting at Ban Hat Pha Khon, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/BbYWk7f4ajDem7kg7

I then rode north before looping back south, along the way I found either a new access track to the Nan River, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/6qq6kmvTVLdRXhEy6

I then decided to ride to Wat Phra That Khao Noi, here.

Today I left Nan in thick fog which lasted about an hour on my way to Giant Tree (Bee Tree), here.

From there was a short walk to a wooden bridge over Wa River.

Beside a quick photo when on R1243 I kept riding without stops until arriving in Loei

Today I woke to my computer playing up and it took a few hours and a lot of swearing before I was ready to ride. I decided to just ride locally to a reservoir to take some photos..

My first stop was at Harirak Forest Park campsite, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/f9UaaoG8qLum8Lar8

From here I rode back and along the dam of the reservoir, over two small steel bridges. After crossing the second it was blocked by bamboo, so I turned back, took photos and called it a day.

Today I rode south again to get some more photos of "Fuji of Loei"

On the way I stopped to take a few shots here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/QtBhnaFg2nNhj3DW8

Then I went to a place I went to yesterday, Doi Sawan Temple Viewpoint.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/Wk7NYVdt1RvLJaCQA

Next, I took a small track I spotted for some more views, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/EN1SWGvHxTM8TocZ7

I then rode up a road saying it was dangerous and you weren’t allowed to go up, but had to get a tuk tuk up. Ignoring the sign, I rode up to Phu Pa Po Viewpoints, one to three, here.

Coming down I met two cars that could not make the dusty climb.

Today I left Loei to ride to Udon, my first stop was a small reservoir, Huai Kaeo Reservoir, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/ib6aBvzKRX6vMiyWA

I then rode up a track to find a better photo point, but came off in a stoney rut. After taking a photo of the crash scene from an original position a local came by and helped me get the bike up.

After that I rode up to take the photo and sort myself out, removing my jacket I found a large swelling, cut and blood.

I looked for two hospitals where I was, but when I arrived, I could see only wooded huts both times. So, I rode onto Udon, sorted out my room and bought what I needed to clean it up at a pharmacy.

This morning, I left Udon to ride a convoluted route to Nong Khai. My first way point was at a wooden farmer’s rest place, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/qeh8rgcZhDhGsey66

Then onto Wooden bridge, lotus viewing area, Ban Leung Thong, which was derelict.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/2beJEEkQT2HEJo7ZA

Next was Wat Pa Na Kham Mun, which I took a quick photo and left due to the charcoal kilns nearby stinking.

Then Nong Mak viewpoint and bamboo bridge, which again was derelict.

I then rode to Nong Khai

Great pics as usual Chris.

At one point you were quite close to my location. Lots of derelict places all over this area. And not many people about this time of year.

Today my ride did not go to plan, arriving at my first waypoint I found that my camera hood had disappeared.

Ban Na Tan Nuea Reservoir, here.

It was either at the hotel or the farmers wooden house I photographed a few days ago.

In the end I decided to ride to the wooden house.

No luck, so I rode back to the hotel, no luck there too.

Today I decided to hospital to get my wound cleaned. No infection, but they still prescribed antibiotics. After the accident I started a course just to ward off infection.

Once this was sorted, I went searching for some black card, tape etc. This was to make a lens hood until I can get a one. This took a few hours of running around, but hopefully it will be good enough.

No sightseeing today, but not a relaxing day either.

Nan years ago was its own Kingdom.

The house was their residence. A descendent of the family still lives there. I have met her and had a small guide from her inside the house.

I presume and initial registration, worth a fortune if the documents are still there.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/7TS4NBZmqwKNqTpG6

In the revies on Google maps, there are more.......

Khum Chao Ratchabut, the residence of Chao Phromthada, the last ruler of Nan, who lived there during his time as Chao Ratchabut (equivalent to viceroy) before moving to the royal residence when he became the ruler (now the Nan Museum). It was later passed on to his descendants, Chao Fa Ratchabut Mokfa. This place is considered a national treasure, especially for the people of Nan, dating back to the time when Nan was the State of Nan before its incorporation into Siam and the subsequent changes in governance, including the abolition of the title of ruler. Currently, a direct descendant of Chao Ratchabut Mokfa owns the property and opens it to interested tourists free of charge (but donations for maintenance are welcome). The owner mentioned that she might not always be there due to personal business; you can try asking her. On my first visit, I met her, and on my second, the door was open, and a young person asked if she was home. She warmly shared the history of the house, showed us the family's heirlooms and photographs, and provided valuable information. *Highly recommended, especially for history enthusiasts. If you're visiting the museum, you should definitely check this place out as well.* The house is not abandoned; it's well-maintained by the descendants. This makes it difficult for people who aren't regular staff to come in and ask questions.

Today I rode south alongside the Mekong River before cutting inland to a wooden bridge I found last time I was here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/BjvSGNyhs3p5epsQA

From here I rode onto Huai Khaen Reservoir, here.

I then rode north until I got to Hong Song Reservoir, here.

Today I had an easy ride local to Nakhon Phanom City, my first stops were along the Mekong looking at the Third Thai Friendship Bridge.

My other waypoints were reservoirs, I did not find them as the new road under construction was confusing Google and I was happy to just ride a lazy loop around the area.
