Today I rode from Mukdahan to Kantharalak, 258km

I stopped at just one area, Kaeng Hin Kan, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/iDHooERCVHb8V9sD7

There were some nice views over the Mekong River towards Laos. With the rocks and rapids and an abandoned long boat with bottles of lao khao, hooch in it.

Today I rode west from Kantharalak a few hundred km Ban Kruat.

There were no stops, but on arrival after checking in to the resort here I walked to Prasat Tong (Golden Castle). An old Khmer Temple, here.

Today my plan was to go photograph some Khmer Temples, starting with Prasat Ta Muen. But it had an army roadblock to stop me as its near the Cambodia border.

 https://maps.app.goo.gl/hSkvgfU2YGTbhAoR8

I then spent a few hours riding around rural Buriram. My first stop was at Ta Miang Reservoir, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/qwJftZ9PcRrP3Uno6

It was being drained and dredged. I then rode to a weir, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/x9fNj7ki2QzfvJYQ8

Then an un-named reservoir view, here.

On my wat to a charcoal Kiln, there was another weir here.

The Kiln is here and has grown in the last few years.

Today I planned an easy ride to a Prasat that I knew would not be affected by the Thai-Cambodian border clashes.

There are two ways to get there. First go to Khao Plai Bat Temple and walk up to the Prasat, about 40 minutes along a rocky path.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/jRC9pHGm4JbZPUoc8

The other option is to ride up a different track that is a bit rutted and stoney. This starts here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/GE14boaYPqbTron6A

Up to the Prasat, here.

Today I planned to ride to Korat, 11km up the road I realized that my Sena Bluetooth Headset had detached from my helmet. I retraced my steps hoping to find it but failed, same as with my camera lens hood.

I rang Sena agents in both Buriram and Korat. No answer at one and not stock at the other. So, I booked back into the hotel and ordered a new set directly from Sena.

Once sorted I rode to a local reservoir, Huai Mekha to take some photos at the bamboo huts and restaurants, here.

Today I stayed local and rode to Huai Bok Reservoir, stopping at a rice field on the way.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/1g93ZjNU6e9gr71dA

The water level was high and you could not walk or ride around it as usual.

On the way back I stopped a pond that used to always have lotus flowers, but nothing worth stopping to photograph.

Just after lunch the Sena headset arrived! 24 hours from order to receiving it. Top service.

Great pics Chris. I know i usually say that, but they are. And I speak as someone who has posted upwards of 2000 pics on TV/AN. Now on TT.

I have followed your trips on other platforms. Just keep an eye on the BBC photo section. When the right topic/theme arrives you will blow them away.

Thanks.

Today I again stayed local and rode to a cliff near the Cambodian Border. Pha Tarung, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/76bURYYfpu6q84xEA

To get there I rode through rubber tree plantations and over a new weir I had not seen before.

Due to the Thai Airforce flying F16 over there checking out the Cambodian Border scaring some people you will find a unique open air toilet!

They would need to have a travel photo page i presume.

Down the years there have been 000s of pics on different themes. I've had two highlighted. I did it just for fun back in the day. One was a pic of a cloud, I took in South London. The other was a pic of a huge lizard, chained up at a market, where people would stroke the creature and put there money under the neck-chain for 'lucky'.

I reckon a theme like 'temples' or 'travel' or 'bridges' would be great. I'll keep a look out.

Today I left Ban Kruat to ride to Korat. My first stop was at Prasat Ban Khok Ngiew, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/Yi1FQMuhtsLZQzMX8

Parking up I ended up doing the red ant dance, which consists of slapping yourself senseless trying to kill them and they bite the hell out of you. Eventually I won, but they are persistent!

Next I went looking for another Prasat, but after a long time looking around for a while I failed, and decided to ride on to Korat.

From my experience running a lot in orchards Red Ants only tend to live in one type of tree/bush. Once you learn to recognise it all will be OK.

Today I rode west of Korat to check out the in construction raised Thai-Chinese Railway.

The tracks alongside have more barriers to stop people. Maybe due to the recent construction failures.

I took some photo here.

I then rode to Prasat Non-Ku, here.
