Will Hegseth be forced to resign?

Many people feel that he was never the correct man for the job, he didn't have a sufficient degree of experience, nor does he possess the level of wisdom required for a man in his position. Trump likely hired him due to his telegenic qualities and the fact that he was a host on Trump's favorite News Channel. That was about the extent of his qualifications. Now things are really heating up with both parties demanding investigations into the second strike scandal and both Don and Pete are starting to deflect blame on to the admiral in charge of the operation. That is not a good sign, nor a good look. To some of us it would indicate both men possess a lack of honor, dignity and courage.

Pete Hegseth barely squeaked through a grueling Senate confirmation process to become secretary of defense earlier this year, facing lawmakers wary of the Fox News Channel host and skeptical of his capacity, temperament and fitness for the job.

Just three months later, he quickly became embroiled in Signalgate as he and other top U.S. officials used the popular Signal messaging application to discuss pending military strikes in Yemen.

And now, in what may be his most career-defining moment yet, Hegseth is confronting questions about the use of military force after a special operations team reportedly attacked survivors of a strike on an alleged drug boat off the coast of Venezuela. Some lawmakers and legal experts say the second strike would have violated the laws of armed conflict.

“These are serious charges, and that’s the reason we’re going to have special oversight,” said Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi, the Republican chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

The scrutiny surrounding Hegseth’s brash leadership style is surfacing what has been long-building discontent in Congress over President Donald Trump’s choice to helm the U.S. military. And it’s posing a potentially existential moment for Hegseth as the congressional committees overseeing the military launch an investigation amid mounting calls from Democratic senators for his resignation.

Hegseth on Tuesday cited the “fog of war” in defending the follow-up strike, saying that there were explosions and fire and that he did not see survivors in the water when the second strike was ordered and launched. But now lawmakers and military and legal experts say the Sept. 2 attack borders on illegal military action.

“Somebody made a horrible decision. Somebody needs to be held accountable,” said Sen. Thom Tillis, a North Carolina Republican who in January held out support for Hegseth until only moments before casting a crucial vote for his confirmation.

“Secretary Talk Show Host may have been experiencing the ‘fog of war,’ but that doesn’t change the fact that this was an extrajudicial killing amounting to murder or a war crime,” said Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md. “He must resign.”

Rep. Don Bacon, a Republican who served 30 years active duty in the Air Force, finishing his career at the rank of brigadier general, said he hasn’t been a fan of Hegseth’s leadership. “I don’t think he was up to the task,” Bacon said.

Resurfaced Clip Shows Pete Hegseth Saying the Military ‘Won’t Follow Unlawful Orders’

The family of a Colombian fisherman has filed a formal complaint accusing Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth of murder.

Alejandro Andres Carranza Medina was killed Sept. 15 in a U.S. military strike on a boat in the Caribbean, and the 42-year-old fisherman's wife and four children filed the complaint Tuesday with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) alleging the United States committed human rights violations in an “extra-judicial killing," reported The Guardian.

“From numerous news reports, we know that Pete Hegseth, U.S. Secretary of Defense, was responsible for ordering the bombing of boats like those of Alejandro Carranza Medina and the murder of all those on such boats," reads the filing. "Secretary Hegseth has admitted that he gave such orders despite the fact that he did not know the identity of those being targeted for these bombings and extra-judicial killings."

"U.S. President Donald Trump has ratified the conduct of Secretary Hegseth described herein," the filing adds.

President Donald Trump on Sunday evening addressed the controversy surrounding Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his alleged order for a second strike on a Venezuelan boat to ensure all passengers were dead.

“He said he didn’t do it, so I don’t have to make that decision,” Trump said, adding when pressed yet again about the legality of the strikes: "I wouldn't have wanted that - a second strike. The first strike was very lethal. It was fine."

........Trump told reporters he didn’t “know anything about it,” but that Hegseth assured him that “he did not say that.”

“Pete said he did not order the death of those men,” Trump said when asked again about a second strike on the boat, and avoided answering whether he would have been okay with a second strike if Hegseth had ordered one.

I suppose the Admiral is now asking Ollie North what he needs to pack in the going away bag.

There is a group called The Five Eyes (FVEY) comprised of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. They share global security information with each other.

The UK just informed the US they will no longer share security info about the Caribbean with the US because they don't want to be associated with the illegal actions of the US. The US has been weakened because of those murders ordered by Hegseth.

Even Hegseth's former buddies at Fox News are turning against him.

“It gives me no pleasure to say what I’m about to say, because I worked with Pete Hegseth for seven or eight years at Fox News,” Napolitano said on Tuesday. “This is an act of a war crime, ordering survivors who the law requires be rescued instead to be murdered, there’s absolutely no legal basis for it.”

hope he will be kick out, prosecuted and jailed, he's a disgrace, same as his master, and now they are trying to change the blame into a culprit  admiral, what a disgrace this people are, some of his past comments just popped up and one has to wonder what would be his excuse, whom to blame for that comment back in 2016

Democrats are going to pick this up and run with it.  And considering what he did was a war crime under the Geneva Convention, as well as his statements that the US doesn't need to be held to account by rules of engagement (as in the Geneva Convention), I expect he'll be under pressure to resign. If the Democrats swing the Midterm elections in 2026, and personally I think they will, my guess is that they'll be political pressure to indict him.  However, neither he or Admiral Bradley will be indicted - Trump will pardon all involved, even though it looks like the administration is throwing Bradley under the bus. But I don't think this will go away. Other Geneva Convention signatories will make this an international issue - as they should. Hegseth's days are numbered as "Secretary of Defense, The US Death Squads, We Don't Need No Stinking Rules War."

That works until it's politically expedite to start labeling those you disagree with as terrorist.  Hell Yagoda, you could be a terrorist.  And once you have a "terrorist" label, then the government doesn't need to worry about indictments and due process.  They can just murder you.

 I'm on Trump's side.  He's never do that to me.
 That works until the Democrats take Congress and Newsom or AOC is your new president. Then suddenly you're a MAGA terrorist. <BOOM> 🔥

Obama ordered the execution of four (that we know of) American citizens by drone strike without trial.

And don't forget about the "fake news" reporters:

Under Intense Pressure to Silence Wikileaks, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Proposed Drone Strike on Julian Assange

“Can’t we just drone this guy?” Clinton openly inquired, offering a simple remedy to silence Assange and smother Wikileaks via a planned military drone strike, according to State Department sources.

What with the unlawful killings/murders mentioned above, there is still the furore over Hegseth's use of the "Signal" app, both of which suggest that this moron should be fired, and I quote.......

"Representative Pat Ryan, an Army veteran, cited the report’s finding that Hegseth’s actions created a risk to operational security and said the report is “incredibly damning for Hegseth”.
“Hegseth jeopardised the mission. He put US pilots’ lives at risk,” Ryan posted. “Then blatantly lied and covered it up. FIRE HEGSETH.”

AND Representative Seth Moulton, a Marine Corps veteran, said in a statement that the Defence Secretary “claimed ‘total exoneration’ yesterday, but that is not what the Inspector General found”.

Hegseth’s “refusal to take responsibility at any stage of this investigation shows a complete lack of accountability that should be unacceptable for anyone in uniform, let alone the Secretary of Defence,” Moulton added.

Seems as though Trump only hires bullies and liars, much like himself.

Given that spidermike007 never mentioned him in his comment. what else is there to conclude but that you believe that homosexuals are morally depraved? Somehow, that's not surprising.
