A 50-year old rookie?

His insurance company is going to be very happy...

Being in the insurance business, his insurer will not give a toss.

The insurance company i think will not be happy in the payout.

Why?  Insurers take on the risk in return for the premiums, they know they will never be out of pocket.

Nailed it....

Nothing to do with the driver and any notion of more money than driving skills.

The OP clearly states that,

There. Nothing whatsoever to do with the driver. It's simply that the car just couldn't control itself.

Hope this helps.

Really? Maybe you should check your facts before making another "I know everything better" post.

And before your next pedant reply, yes this list is USA, but it happens all over the world.

Maybe you should read and check for relevancy your own link of a 6-year old article detailing some irrelevant bankruptcies going back over a hundred years that included no motor insurers before making another "I know even better" post.   The more recent ones connected to the 2008 financial crisis that was nothing to do with motor claims but were due to bad investments.

Probably drunk driver,  but Money often give them a pass. Nothing mentioned in the article about an alcohol test, which I find suspicious.

I can hear the conversation just before the crash “Here honey, hold my beer and see how fast I can go"

No, no casualties, but seems to be a small dent in the economy.

That sucker will be back on the road in a few months.

Nothing to do with the skilled driver.....

The car didn't lose control. the dipstick driver has no idea how to operate something of this caliber.  I'd be willing to bet 95% of the supercar owners here have inadequate skills to operate these types of machines.  These cars don't just lose control. they're made to stick to a bank on a track.

I worked as a promo model at a McLaren event a few years ago.  It's absolutely astounding when you see the drivers actually get out of the cars.  Dodgeball victims x10

I have a lot of money, but I'm still confused, which one is the break and which one is the accelerator 😜🥴🤔

clearly the driver could not distinguish between 'break' and 'brake'.... 😉

I'd rule out sleeping at the wheel on this one.. Could be having some hanky panky though, but the spot is pretty tight..

The driver should be charged for vandalism among other things.

First they should find out how he got the car in the first place.  The average salary of a highly skilled, experienced academic degree professional would take him 150 months, more than 12 years, without spending any Bath to something else. So what would be his explanation ?
