They are 'pets' when someone poisons them, but "not my dog" when they bite someone, cause a road accident or bark all night.

If they were pets, why were they left in the street? Why were they not in the owner's home?

  • Doesn't allow people to poison animals.Straydogs all over Thailand. When i lived in surin we had 7 dogs. Allways walking free in the village. At night time they protect our home from intruders.

  • Walking around shirtless:  guilty   No tattoos:  that exonerates him   Getting rid of vermin that barks all night long, carries rabies and threatens passers-by:  Give him a medal!

This is typical AN BEHAVIOR.

You interacted with me, you replied to my comment with hostility and now it's me who has the problem.

I see that the BBQ is playing the profesional victim again.

Maybe we'll see claims that the poisoner is a Homophobe. 😄

That´s a really good question and a fair demand. However, like the Thai´s state, he should have been opening a dialogue about his concerns. We don´t need stupid foreigner coming here and think they can do as they please.

You're proving again that you are one of the 2 psychos you claim live in your area.

I haven't ever in my life been in Australia

I'd really like the guy in the news to walk around my area and feed the dogs. I'd give him 1000 baht. How can I contact him?

Also.. one has to remember that dogs are pack animals... If they were left to roam the streets then they surely became part of a pack which denotes their behavior when there so called owners are away. they might have been the best dogs for the owner when he calls them to feed them. But when the pack behavior kicks in they were most likely mean to people they were not social with.

I do not agree with anyone poisoning the animals. I would have captured them and taken them to some type of shelter. Or ignored them if possible. But not killing them.

That to ,yes.

I know it's a disaster with the dogs in Thailand but you can't poison them. This could be the beginning of the end for this guy. The only solution is to accept defeat and move. As bad as the problem is you can still avoid the stray dogs if you plan carefully.

I doubt he can outrun a dog..best to stop bend down and pretend to pick up a stone..not a real one though as if you injure the dog trying to maul you to death then you will be in serious trouble.

To be honest i beern attached many times when bicycle or drive with motorcycle in the village before.I always take a stick with me and attack the dogs and they run away screaming.

When I was living on Koh Tao it was commonplace for 'drive-by' poisoning to take place, often so the dog populace wouldn't explode!

It’s people like you that are the problem. Seven dogs indeed. Roaming around and ‘protecting from intruders’? Yeah, they all say that. That translates as strays up to no good recreationally barking, probably causing accidents, biting kids etc. Third world stuff. The guy is a scumbag, but all that barking drives people up the wall. About time Thailand got with it and removed strays from the streets. Go live in the jungle if you want to be with the animals.

I been working as a thai translator many years.I speak thai and khmer well. When i lived in surin police came pick me up if problems with a foreigner.aAnd of course i helped. One night in surin city near bud station i sat and drunk at a Norwegian bar.Everything okay.I needed more sigaretts from my car and suddenly two guys approicied m demand my driving license etc.I said im NOT driving.Anyway they took my car fees.Everything was wery calmed

.These two gives work and you get cough fast.

I was almost in despair, but there are still reasonable people in this world.

A couple of weeks ago, near Rayong, a pack of stray dogs mauled a 2.8-year-old child. The body was found without ears. The cause of death was blood loss; the dog had severed an artery in his leg. Of course, the 21-year-old father was also to blame for leaving the child home alone. But if not for "the alcoholic Thai ex-relatives", things might not have ended so tragically.

The YouTube video about this incident has many Thai comments. They mostly say the father is suspicious. I think the young, lazy father just got away with it. For some reason, this never occurs to Thais. Sorry for the off-topic.

But it's useless to argue with dog advocates. Having fed them even once, they're firmly convinced of the dogs' loyalty. Plus, these cowards now have a protector animal. Which, of course, is "kind and doesn't bite people."

Thank  God left behind drugs that only kill dogs.
I think the guy in the news used something harsh – rat poison, which is why the innocent birds died.

Are there any other cultures worldwide stupid enough to let dogs - stray or otherwise - bark all night?
