A road crash involving a private car and a herd of horses occurred on 13 December, resulting in two horses being killed and three others injured, while the car was badly damaged. The collision happened on the Ratchaburi–Nakhon Pathom road, before the Bang Phae junction in Wang Yen subdistrict, Bang Phae district, Ratchaburi province. The incident caused alarm among motorists using the route and led to traffic disruption as authorities moved to secure the area.

According to reports, the accident came to light after a video clip was shared by the Facebook page “อยากดังเดี๋ยวจัดให้ รีเทริน์ part 7,” which captured the moment of impact. The footage shows a saloon car travelling along the road when several horses suddenly ran across its path. The driver was unable to brake in time, leading to a violent collision with the animals.

Witness-recorded images from the scene show the front of the car extensively damaged, with debris scattered across the roadway. Several horses were seen lying on the road surface, while others were thrown across traffic lanes, creating a chaotic and dangerous situation for passing vehicles. The incident prompted immediate concern for both road safety and animal welfare.

Following the crash, relevant officials moved quickly to control the scene and manage traffic to prevent further incidents. Authorities also coordinated with animal welfare units to deal with the injured horses and the remains of those that died. At the same time, officials began examining how the horses came to be loose on a major roadway, as part of a wider investigation into the cause of the accident.

The case has highlighted ongoing risks posed by animals straying onto busy roads, particularly in areas where livestock or horses may be kept nearby. While no injuries to the car’s occupants were reported in the initial information, the scale of damage underscores the potential severity of such incidents.

Khoasod reported that officials will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including responsibility for the animals and any legal steps required. Further measures may be considered to prevent similar incidents and to ensure safer conditions for both motorists and animals in the area.

As i am aware. Thailand does not have wild horses roaming around. Clearly the owner needs to come forth and accept responsibility for the damages.

Cars won't stop for pedestrians in a zebra crossing, they surely won't even slow down for horses.

Having tried to cross the road over the zebras in Thailand a few times in my life.... No, they would not.

Very sad. From the damage to the vehicle it's clear it was being driven at high speed. However, no action will be taken against the driver. Only a few dead and injured animals after all.

Looks like highway 4, AH2, main highway through the area.
