The police took swift action after the video emerged, identifying the teenagers and stating that their behaviour could harm Chon Buri’s tourist image.

Please, cut some slack, kids having some fun

As long as the statues weren't damaged, what's the problem.

There are much more urgent problems in this country rather than some teenagers having their fame on TikTok

were they "sick buffalo's" ?

Harmless fun for a few teenagers ! Better than drugs or alcohol !

Luckily Thailand doesn't have any real concerns with law and order, this allows the citizen police to keep on eye on all the minor infractions and call in the heavies ensuring a secure trouble free society - W 's.

Teenagers having good fun, as teenagers all over the world would do. If Thai society is so conservative and prudent, they should focus their attention on places like Pattaya, Nana etc.

These statues were created by Thai students. Their culture towards the animal was not harmed in any way.

Also, why do the police have to get involved? Unless there is a law banning you from doing such a thing out in public.

My guess any foreigner viewing this would think how happy the kids were and how much fun they were having since they did not damage the statues.

Heck, better they do this than drive around with knives and guns on the streets in Chonburi looking for rivals.

not quite, altho its a dumb animal, its a big animal and thus have a soul, thats why thais dont eat them

It's the end of the world as we know it!

This is actually a great advert for Chonburi. It should be a permanent feature with regular dancing competitions. The girl in the striped shirt surely wins this one.

Exactly, it's not like these statues have religious significance. They were put there to make the place more attractive and interesting, and that's also exactly what the dancers did. Put the place on the Internet map.

Youngsters having to apologize for having fun. Oh dear.

In the UK we have the gammons. What is the Thai version? Wrinkled mango?

At least no Danes were involved in producing that video. We all know it would not have looked quite so innocent then...

no, most buddhists will not eat large animals, pig or smaller is the buddha way

No, not most, just some. Do you live only in the city? Practically no-one uses buffalo for work purposes any more, Up here in Isaan cows and buffaloes are important food sources, living off all the grass growing in the wet season and clearing the rice stubble.
