All drugs are available in the UK....:coffee1:

I had the pleasure of having one of these quality tourists sit at the next table away from me at lunch. Covered in tattoos, horrible accent, loud talking on his phone and whistling between calls. Sent a pint of Chang back because it was 'flat'.  He was young and in decent shape, so he will probably be haunting this family destination (Pattaya) for decades to come.

'God Save the King' but what about the rest of us?

So the UK economy must be doing OK. Also Brits get about 28 days (5 weeks)  paid leave vs. USA 10 (two weeks+)  So it makes sense many of them venture further afield for vacation/holiday.

Like the Australians one month holiday is normal, some need to drive 17hrs just to leave their state, visiting families can mean a 7day drive.

Like so many Brits of that demographic, he seemed to be looking for a fight. The older guys just ignored him and carried on watching England get trounced in The Ashes.

The middle aged and beyond Brits are what gives me hope for the young ones. The older guys are friendly and have a unique sense of humour.

Benidorm Brits lured by the drugs.

Come to get blind drink first thing in the morning, followed by a british breakfast with baked beans, Daily Mirror in hand, plenty of drugs for the chavy young ones, the older racist ones whinging about foreigners back home, very cheap and frugal so argue about even 10 baht, no shirt on, then end the day with a punch up by smashing some innocent foreigners face in for no reason. Repeat daily.

many spend their time commenting about people like you. wondering if they will ever be lucky enough to meet up so they could prove you wrong.  by keeping their shirts on when they do

It looks like Starmer has raised the wealth of the British if a million visited Thailand. Good on him!

Do you know what hi-so means. I suspect you mean educated middle class. When you say "running his countrymen down", you mean someone pointing out that British foreigners resident/holidaying in Pattaya are almost uniformly chavs. In over 30 years in Thailand I have never met anyone Pattaya based - though some were rich - who were not naff and uncultured The only exceptions I can recall were at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club.I don't say all Pattaya Brits are bad people - just dead common.

You need to get out of Central Pattaya  and away from the bars.

I am "East Pattaya based" for 13+ years (Darkside),

I am not "rich" (with money),

I am not "naff"(????),

I am not "uncultured",

I have never heard of a "Royal Varuna Yacht Club" (do they do 50 baht chicken & rice breakfasts?)

Your post firmly seems to place you in the particular category of people I associate with Pattaya,Are you British? Tell us a little about yourself.

Ahhh....you associate with Pattaya people but you haven't associated with me? Confusing yourself much?

Am I British? Why is that relevant?

I've already told you a little about myself. Are you now cyber-stalking me from your Central Pattaya location?🙃🙃

This is the common refrain of losers who have ended up in Thailand attracted by cheap booze and sex, but have burnt their boats in the UK.The UK obviously has its problems but the hardworking and well educated do very well, and have an excellent life. That's why incidentally cultured and well off Thais send their children to English public schools.

If you read on this forum of some description of the UK as a hell hole or similar, it variably says more about the poster than it does about the UK.Even those Brits who have been settled here for decades and have no reason to be attached to it, hold the country in affectionate if sometimes disappointed regard. It's only the uneducated trash that hate it.

Rubbish. I have a £1.2m mews house in London, which I got by hard work and I guess the degree helped, so I don't consider myself as uneducated trash but I hold no affection for the UK these days. Quite a common occurence for me to look out of the window and see junkies with their crack pipes slumped against the wall opposite, have my front door used as a urinal at least one a week. The drug dealing is conducted in full view of residents and a call to the cops results in a text message stating they will endeavour to attend within 60 minutes. It never happens and have the CCTV to prove it.

You are also ignoring the fact that every opinion poll in the UK shows a majority of people have a very negative opinion about the current state of the country, not just " losers who have ended up in Thailand attracted by cheap booze and sex," Any journalist/ TV reporter will tell you the most common phrase they hear used about Britain is it's "broken".

You don't know what you are talking about.

best put a cap on it ...or send them back in boats ..lol.... btw  regarding immigration ...it's generally known that the last ones "in" are the most adamant that controls should be brought in...

You confuse class with wealth.Houses are expensive in London as they are in other capital cities.Every Tom, Dick and Harry has a degree of some sort - it's far from being indicator of culture and civilization.I have never denied the UK currently has major problems and this is reflected in the rise of Reform and the Greens, and the loss of faith in the traditional ruling parties - including the present one.The current mood of disillusion is however very different from hating the country. In fact love of country is at the heart of what drives the current mood of disappointment at how the country has been run in the last few decades. So I don't deny the anger and to some extent share it.When people say Britain is broken , they don't mean they hate it.They mean they dislike the politicians who have caused its problems.

Returning to the Pattaya expatriate/visitor population, I am sure there are some decent enough people but the majority are ...let us say not exactly the cream of civilization. It's essentially a brothel town with a few golf courses bolted on.

That is why I like the fact Phuket is more expensive as it keeps most of the riff-raff out.

I went to Pattaya in 2019 as I was having a house built in Rayong, I left after a few hours, I stood out like a sore thumb, I did not have the required set of tattoos and foul mouth.

I was back in the UK for six months during the long hot summer there this year, I saw politicians stating how bad things were, news papers too as bad news sells.

The people I know there all seemed happy, most were not moping about, I saw many having a great time.

As far as degrees go there are some waste of time subjects, like history of art etc, but I am glad doctors, dentists, software engineers have to have degrees in in the field they work in otherwise we would be in a right state, those types of degrees are not easy to come by and do show brains, especially if gained from top universities like Oxford, Cambridge, LSE etc, I have not seen every Tom, Dick or Harry with such degrees.

I see people without degrees in a 'real' subjects being resentful and come out with such stupid statements re Tom, Dick and Harry.

India pushed you down to the 6th spot.

There is no shame in that seeing as our population is around 70 million and India is around 1.4 billion people, sixth is still better than the other 194 counties in the world. 👍
