Have you helped him yet ...you keep saying you will ?

I noticed your posts are similar to Ralf's ....twins perhaps?

Darlin if your going to be 2 posters at least change the punctuation on one of the posting  names

He hasn't found a place that will accept him and therefore I can't help him pay for it. I actually called places trying to find a place but none would accept him without a passport.  What have you done Champ?

You can definitely dish out insults as most losers can but reflection is not a strength of yours apparently.  Your situation in life is sad but you are the only person that can change it.

Best of luck and maybe ditching the fake persona might help.

why would the bank call the police. They do not enforce visa rules.

Slightly off topic but needs to be said:  Recently, I had to get a new bankbook, ibecause my Passport had changed - it took almost 3 hrs at SCB Jom Tien because they check every little thing about you, previous bankbooks, withdrawals, took pictures of Visa, Arrival stamps, called Immigration (I understand enough Thai to know what they were asking)   Once all that was done, I had to sign a dozen places on forms, copies or every little facet of my Life in Thailand (even a semi-large Lottery win 14 years ago)    No, maybe they don’t enforce Visa rules, but they made sure I knew even the smallest discrepancy, they would close the account.  I have had this account 24 years - the Banks are under a lot of pressure from Thai Govt about Bank Accounts/money laundering etc etc.   I walked out with a new bank card, bankbook, and now waiting for my Visa card to be mailed to me.  Luckily I had copies of my last 3 expired Passports………computer said the picture didn’t look like me about 10 times, yes I have lost 65lbs in past six years or so, luckily my Snazola hasn’t changed a bit and that saved me.

A non-consensual divorce?  To the best of my knowledge it takes three years separated

No, it generally takes a few months.  It is pretty quick and you are reading the document incorrectly.  Being seperated for 3 years is one of many reasons the divorce will be granted.  Not a long process but can be expensive and it sounds like the OP wasn't prepared.

Exactly what I was saying.  You forgot the part above what you pasted 🙂 Only "one" of the following has to be met.

It generally takes a few months.

Yep and it happens all the time.  It is common in Farang/Thai relationships.  Lawyers get involved and it gets ugly and expensive.  In his case it seems they went through their little cash during the legal aspects of the divorce and were only left with the home.  The court gave the home to his wife to raise the kids. That's my guess.

You and the Op almost sound like the same person.  Related?  Live in the same neighborhood?

As I was walking home to gather my things, bus stopped and it was a driver on the Pattaya-Phuket route I've known for years. I explained the situation to him, and he offered to let me sleep on the bus.

Not to mention they won't provide any banking services without a photocopy of your valid VISA.

I've never been asked to show my immigration status in a vank, other than when I opened my account 10 years ago.

GG, staying with me (in Laos) is a bit difficult just now, since I was arrested by the Lao police on Christmas Day, (and luckily released after a 'Mexican Standoff'). But  I can ask if there is space in the cells for your friend...

My mad ex #2 had committed the majority of those conditions 🙂

Certified as insane, violent, adultery, druggie, harming me physically and mentally blah blah blah...

Apart from that, she was ok.... 🙂

What bank do you have?

Krungsri and BKK Bank I updated my info now when I renewed my visa, and when you want new bank cards, you have to show your PP with proof of legal stay as well.

Is this for real ? Some things from OP don’t make sense to me. It’s at least a very unusual combination of problems.

somebody mentioned it could be a test. A Xmas compassion test.

maybe the op is a bitcoin billionaire and whoever let him stay will receive one bitcoin? 🥳

But it kind of brought up some memories of a similar situation, when I was desperately looking for a room in Pattaya at New Year’s Eve almost 30 years ago. When Pattaya bar scene was busy 24/7 and in the morning the first patrons would meet the ones from previous night. Back then I travelled quite frequently and never pre booked a room. Was so easy to find a room just walking in some hotel I knew. But I’ve never been over new year and this was a different story. All my usual places fully booked. Pre-handphone-google-booking.com-Airbnb times. Very different world.

I arrived like 10pm by car, tired, desperate for a shower and a drink. After unsuccessfully checking like 10 hotels I went with my little suitcase  to a bar I think soi seven or eight. Funny ladies who jumped out on the street and pulled me in. Had some drinks, chatted with them also about my problem. Turned out ‘younger sister’ of the girl I was interested in, was happy to take me to her room for the night. Priorities. Problem solved. Did stay a couple of nights with her and then found a hotel room. Big tip for her, really cuddly lady and great company.

oh I miss these times.

I am likely to arrest, (and have been twice now), for the offence of having a (legal) ham radio antenna in public, something for which the local big wig police guy has a severe allergy to....

Others not displaying their antenna should be fine 🙂
