  • I would have thought sorting out the overstay would be top priority, the bank staff will want to see your passport and may well notice that you are 'without visa'.

  • My experience with the Bangkok Bank when updating my bank book is that they did not ask for my passport.  When the book became full they printed out missing transactions on a piece of paper and staple

  • Sorry for the divorce of the OP. A strong reminder to all falangs. In Thailand don't get legally involved with marriage and stuff. It can often end up all to the loss of the westerner.

No, just once a year. After 180 days I could get an extension, which I would qualify for since it involves showing foreign accounts not Thai ones. I haven’t had to do that yet though since I travel a lot and haven’t been in Thailand longer than 6 months since i got the visa.

I’ve heard of immigration scrutinizing travelers with my visa since a lot of sleazy agents helped people get DTVs when they weren’t otherwise eligible.

But of course, they won’t crack down on the agents. Only their customers.
