    I would have thought sorting out the overstay would be top priority, the bank staff will want to see your passport and may well notice that you are 'without visa'.

    My experience with the Bangkok Bank when updating my bank book is that they did not ask for my passport.  When the book became full they printed out missing transactions on a piece of paper and staple

    Sorry for the divorce of the OP. A strong reminder to all falangs. In Thailand don't get legally involved with marriage and stuff. It can often end up all to the loss of the westerner.

    No, just once a year. After 180 days I could get an extension, which I would qualify for since it involves showing foreign accounts not Thai ones. I haven’t had to do that yet though since I travel a lot and haven’t been in Thailand longer than 6 months since i got the visa.

    I’ve heard of immigration scrutinizing travelers with my visa since a lot of sleazy agents helped people get DTVs when they weren’t otherwise eligible.

    But of course, they won’t crack down on the agents. Only their customers.
