Two tourists were filmed engaging in a lewd act on Patong's streets, sparking outrage and debate over Thailand's visa-free policy. The scene unfolded near Bangla Road, with reports identifying the men as of Middle Eastern and Western descent. Witnesses described their behaviour as heavily intoxicating, despite calls urging them to stop.

Social media erupted, linking the incident to the country's visa-free entry policy. Comments criticise tourists for abusing the privilege, with some claiming tourism quality has diminished. Public opinion was clear: free visas should not equate to lax behaviour.

According to the Thai Criminal Code, public indecency can lead to fines of up to 5,000 baht. Additionally, foreigners involved may face visa revocation or blacklisting. However, Phuket police have yet to release an official statement on the individuals' identities or potential legal actions.

This incident brings back memories of a similar case in February 2024 when a foreign man was spotted naked outside a Phuket 7-Eleven. These incidents underscore persistent problems with tourist conduct, posing a challenge for local authorities to strike a balance between tourism appeal and public order, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • A public lewd act in Phuket caught two tourists on camera.

  • Social media users link such incidents to visa-free travel policies.

  • Legal actions may include fines and possible visa revocation.

Or?? ;-)

Quick BJ between mates

Free visa is nothing to do with a BJ in public so the netizens shouldn't be outraged when you see them pissing & <deleted>ting on the roadside!

Remember the the Thai homeless people banging away!!

Fine them for lewd behaviour disturbing the peace etc or whatever the BIB decides the charge (as seem to make them up as they go along) with agreement won't occur again

Exactly my thought. Linking this type of behavior to visa policy is a stretch. Thailand has always attracted idiots like this, particularly in areas like Bangla Road where sex is the overwhelming theme on display.

Stupid act of disrespect but, thai netizens should concentrate on the bigger picture, 241 people have been killed in traffic accidents over the new year period, nearly 3000 cases of drink driving (those are the ones arrested actual figures of those who got lucky must be huge)

They are "outraged"....

But instead of asking them to stop they prefer make a video of it, som they can get their daily dose if "likes"...

Maybe a frustrated bargirl seing "business" lost ?? ;-)

They should have known that tourists aren't allowed to work in Thailand.

Soi dogs are.

There’s no excuse for their behaviour in public, drunk or not. If they went back to a room nobody would give a stuff. It’s disrespectful to Thai’s, and to put it in perspective, homosexuality is criminalised in most Middle Eastern countries. If these two did the same act in public there the consequences would have been far more severe raging from fines, imprisonment to the death penalty. I believe everybody has the right to choose to be whatever makes them happy, and not to be judged by others for their choice, but they have a responsibility, same as all other tourists, to show respect for the host country they stay in.

When he gets back to Saudi the authorities might be wanting a word with him, Bringing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia into disrespect off with your head,

Seriously, These two sickos need to be fined as a minimum 250,000 Bah.

PLUS once paid they should be instantly sent back home directly from the jail.

PLUS passport stamped, "Gay Sicko's" who publicly do head jobs.

Imagine how much that will affect their life and future travel plans?

This always baffles me and is completely absurd. What is the correlation between someone's visa status and how they behave as a human being. These people behave badly because of who they are as human beings and has nothing whatsoever to do with their visa status. It's like linking their behaviour to their hair colour. Also how do they know what visa status any of these people that were caught causing trouble, lewd behaviour, etc, was anyway? Clutching at straws
