I read in The Times today that those who lose weight by means of fat injections then gain weight 4 times faster than typical weight gains when they stop the injections.

I'm in the UK now, and many warned me that the food prices would cripple me. Not so if you eat fresh food, such as fruit, salads, fish fillets (not battered). The price is no higher than the prices in Bangkok.

But venture down the many shopping aisles marked "ultra-processed krap - ideal for lard buckets", and prices sore way above the Bangkok prices. I watched locals piling total trash food into their shopping trolleys, without a thought for what chemicals etc are actually in the junk that they are buying.

I'm not sure pizza counts as junk food,

Bread, cheese, tomatoes....... What's wrong with that?

happily fat? not when weight related health conditions kick in.

I eat that stuff occasionally, but if someone wants to lose weight all that junk type stuff is best avoided

Why not, eat, drink what you like, I thought that was what happy living is all about, not being one of those eating rabbit's food just in case they put on a few pounds..........🙄

Moderation is the key, ol' chap.....😉

eating rabbit's food

If you can cook, your "rabbit food" can be very tasty. But yes, making a burger is easier.

But it's not just about being a healthy weight. More serious is clogging up of your arteries due to eating this trash food. The chance of having a heart attack or even cardiac arrest is much increased if you eat trash food, thanks to the fat clogging up your arteries, also leading to higher blood pressure as your poor old heart has to work harder to push your blood through those narrowed arteries.

That's right

I have been eating real food for many, many years.

These days, I eat:

REAL canned tuna. I have cut down to one can of REAL tuna per day.

REAL 5-egg-omelette made with REAL eggs from chickens. One or two omelettes per day.

REAL chicken breast meat from REAL Live chickens, with feathers. I found a brand of chicken breast meat that is BOTH REAL and somewhat tender. But the other garbage chicken breasts I bought at Lotus were very spongy and rubbery and like extraordinarily tough chewing gum. I don't know how they can sell these. The tender chicken I get from Makro is far better. But, most importantly, all the chickens are REAL, and NOT VIRTUAL chickens.

REAL RICE: I like the Jasmine rice, but ONLY if it is REAL RICE, and not that VIRTUAL rice I have been reading so much about.

I also bake my own REAL bread, made with REAL flour, REAL sugar, about only one tablespoon, and REAL salt. And the yeast I use is also REAL.

Then, as far as fluid intake: I drink nothing but REAL WATER packaged in REAL plastic jugs.

It's unreal just how much REAL food I eat every day.

I do not eat any unreal ultra-processed food.

I don't believe in it.

I don't eat any of that stuff, like prepared jars of marinara sauce, or anything in cans that has more than one ingredient listed.

I do have, very seldom though, a bit of MAYO, Hellman's. Maybe one tablespoon every other month.

I keep everything REAL.

Thai food is real food. Loaded with sugar and fat.

Exactamente.

It's like rubbish about taking vitamins / folic acid / biotin.

No effect whatsoever.

It's the physical equivalent of prayer: Useless at best, harmful at worst.

Maybe it was lab meat from Israel? 🤔

Pizza and pasta doesnt make you feel full, unless you have excessively enough protein with it. It’s all about the total kalories, and the right combination of macros.

Pizza is generally high in kalories and dead calories if not home made of Whole Foods.

AI backs me up

You're right;

pizza and pasta often aren't filling because they're carb-heavy and lack sufficient protein and fiber, leading to quick digestion and hunger, despite high calories, but adding protein (like chicken) and veggies boosts satiety and balance; homemade versions with whole-food ingredients offer better control over macros and calorie density for sustained fullness

Great news.

For far too long Americans have not been putting the right stuff into their bodies.

Now I'm glad Mr Trump and his team have put America's health first, finally, with this inverted pyramid, the way it should've been 50 years ago.

Yes, a good eating lifestyle, will, should give you a longer, better life. Once realized, and making adjustments, one should be able to notice the changes for good or bad and what works for them.

When younger and burning off all those extra calories, no matter the source, all pretty good. Now, not so much, and my body is more selective, and reacts when not eating whole foods.

Different levels and type of food processing makes a huge difference. Some you feel & see, others, not so obvious, till blood work points it out.

Potatoes are a better satiating carb, better than rice and bread, with adding some meat more filling, eggs are good for topping up also

Isn’t fat associated with jolly characters? It may have its advantages.
