Advice required - how to stop neighbour's cat pooing in our garden

We don't have cats and dogs.

Wife's pride and joy is her garden; she spends hours per day gardening.

We have a problem withneighbour's cats coming in the garden and pooing. Wife understandably not happy having to clean up.

Anyone have any SERIOUS advice how to keep the cats away?

Our dog keeps cats at bay, but I've read that motion sensitive garden sprinklers can be effective.

For example ... https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=how+to+stop+cats+from+pooping+in+my+garden#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:a3ae4848,vid:Tgv0vHNxRD0,st:0

How It Works:

Using infrared technology, this repeller senses an animal's heat and movement up to 30 feet away. When an animal is detected, its sprinkler releases a sudden burst of water combined with startling noise and motion that safely and effectively repels a wide range of animals. And the animal detector works day or night, so it's always on watch. This motion sensor sprinkler will defend up to 1,900 square feet.

This repeller eliminates the need to apply chemical repellents, keeping your yard easy and inexpensive to maintain, and safe for children and pets. And each spray uses only 2-3 cups of water, so it's efficient.

Buy an airsoft pistol and shoot them.

The problem is we rarely see the cats in the garden. We think it/they comes early morning or when dark.

Thanks for everyone's comments, none of which work for me and the wife, I was hoping someone might know of a deterrent (plant or powder etc) - I know cats hate tin foil but that's not practical in the garden.

My brother used to say that pepper was an effective cat deterrent. Try deploying some at a known "poop site" and see if it works.

I had cats getting into my car's engine compartment, so I put plastic spiked cat mats on the ground under that part of the car -- works well.

But putting them on scale around the perimeter of your garden might be impractical.

search "cat repellent" on lazada.

there's a few things on there.

"Ultrasonic cat repellent"

"Cat repellent spikes"
