It may surprise many, how many commercial businesses, chain stores and mall already have their roofs covered with solar panels.

Future Park mall area, Rangsit, and so many more ... 👍

Thailand, and much of ASEAN, has loads of solar generation online but not much in the way of grid-based energy storage to allow that generated energy to be time-shifted.

Of course, the malls etc. that we see covered in panels are actually using most of their generation during the day as that's their peak airconditioning period.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Off-peak rates are much lower that peak, which make cost justification for batteries a much heavier lift.

With our service upgrade, we're getting a time of use (TOU) meter, and I should know in a few months what the pay-back is on an installation with and without batteries.

Our old house the bill was 5-7K a month, but the new house is bigger and has a lot of windows.
