Yes. But, whether at first at the US Embassy Bangkok and then at outreach, I was on several occasions asked by the consular official before swearing, that "You are aware that Thai IMM can ask for corroborating info?"

So I arranged my finances for the 65K monthly regime and had a letter from the 3rd party admin just in case well before the change in rules 2019.
