And now the once feared Thailand law and jails are no longer feared

You mean jail-time has become enjoyable, even here?

Could it be that Gen Z is the weakest and most substandard generation in the history of mankind? Could it be that growing up attached to multiple electronic devices, and being addicted to social med

  • You have got to be kidding me. Look what you just wrote. 🤣🤣🤣

I think we are becoming grumpy old men, when complaining about the young ones – and yes, I also see numerous young folks doing crazy thing, especially young men of too big and fast motorbikes taking too many risk in the traffic, which also become a risk for others – but then I shall remember to think about, what I myself did, when I was young, and what other young people did at that time. Old folks then might also have thought that I was behaving bad. Luckily there were no TikTok and Internet, and no digital cameras and smartphones – and friends that carried around with a heavy camera stuffed with an old-fashioned roll of film, mainly snapped fun photos, which today are great memories – I presume it's same-same now as back then, elder people feels that young folks cannot behave...😉

In my opinion, it's simply a matter of proper upbringing. If the parents of these young people aren't even capable of providing a proper upbringing themselves, how are the children supposed to learn ...

The problem is that they actually attract these types as most of them are big spenders.

I don't exaggerate. You can look up stats on road deaths of Thailand online. And an academic should be able to spell amateur, and that academic thing has gotten old a long time ago. Here's a link so you can read one................https://news.sky.com/story/killer-roads-why-thailand-has-one-of-the-worst-death-rates-from-driving-in-the-world-12051841

2024 the motor cycle deaths were 14144. I make that 38 per day not 60. Unless there was a huge increase in 2025.

It's been an average of 60 a day, not counting those that passed away at the hospitals.

You might – unfortunately – be right.

Don't concern yourself with the drivel. @Nurf accuses anyone that he disagrees with of living in a foreign land. It's a very, very strange and unique habit. I think he thinks it's some kind of insult.

But you in fact do live in the US. You don't live here

Just like everything you post it's just a big con job

Despite your diarrhea of the fingers you never post in local forums, never post anything current. It's all observations from a far off land

You're a fraud

Maths has changed since I learnt it then or my calculator is wonky. Or please point me to a site where annual deaths is 21900. If it doesn't include those that died in hospital then the total must be even higher. I can only find an approximate figure for 2025 of 18000 total. I must admit I thought it was higher than that

I've seen a few different numbers, ranging from 70 to 38. This is from AI, again not showing deaths after the trip to the hospital............In 2024, Thailand recorded approximately

38 to 40 daily road traffic deaths, with over 10,551 fatalities reported between January 1 and October 6, 2024.................you can search more, as there are different figures found, as I do remember seeing them higher myself, and Thailand ranking number one in deaths or in the top 3 for a long term Edit: Another link.............https://asiantransportobservatory.org/analytical-outputs/roadsafetyprofiles/thailand-road-safety-profile-2025/

Are most photos not snapped fun photos, usually looked at once, 10 seconds after being taken. And then 10 very similar ones are posted on FB or similar.

I know this sounds like a somewhat dark thought, but I'm kind of glad that I'm older now and it won't have to see this world 40 or 50 years from now.

I believe since the advent of social media we have started to move backwards as a civilization, and we are marching back towards the Cro-Magnon era.

That seems fair and well said.

But some old people have always said that, prophesying the coming catastrophe when they are no longer around.

Hardly in the old time that I mentioned; even with a Polaroid-camera if took about 60 seconds before you could see the photo. I know, as I had one, and film was so costly that you never would snap 10 more, almost identical. Furthermore, there were no SoMe to share them, the only folks to share with, was those that also was there when the picture was snapped...😀

I obviously meant young photographers THESE DAYS, not going to Max Spielman or Boots to get photos developed
