Fasting thoughts

Featured Replies

Ive done lots of 18 to 52 hour fasts. Might try a 72 hour fast.

Anyone tried 72 hours?

Yes vital. Water alone is no good.

I've heard of people doing fasts with bone broth.

But never tried.

You're getting some nutrition but little calories and no insulin spike. And maybe feel less hungry.

Yeah could work. I did vitamins for 2 days. 48 hours. No issues.

I'm thinking of doing a fast when I arrive in Pattaya

How can I start , should I start with a low number first say 12 hours?

should I eat the first or last meal of the day eg breaky or dinner ?

Skip breakfast

Drink water with vitamins/electrolytes

Drink black coffee if feel hungry

Aim for first meal after 12pm

See if you can last to 2pm

I recommend Voost multis. Add to water. The have all you need.

Def ready for 72 hrs now.

Multi day fasting is not good the body. Lack of protein and weight loss, usual involves lean muscle loss. Not the results or weight you want to lose.

Intermittent fasting of 16 hours, with an 8 hour eating window will give maximum results. Actually very easy to do. Start with 12 hours and work your way up to 18 hours.

Easy to stick with, and one to two months, you notice the benefits. More than an 18 hours fast is too challenging, and useless if you can't stick with it.

I disagree. Ive lost no strength. Done lots of 40 to 48 hours. Feel better. Science says its good. Eat plenty of protein either side.

Humans 5000 years would have fasted all the time.

It's a controversial topic.

Also depends how much body fat you have.

If you're 2% body fat and you fast too long, the body will break down protein stores.

If you're 30% body fat, the body has a lot of fat to go through before it starts relying on protein stores.

But I believe (and I could be wrong), fasting 3 days will not cause muscle loss for most people.

It's after 7 days maybe that it can become a problem.

But not 100% sure.

But I wouldn't fast longer than 3 days ... just makes be a bit nervous to fast too long.

I believe up to 120 hours is ok but not sure. Guy who did 7 to 10 day fasts said they felt amazing after 5 days.

It puts a smile on my face. I got one too for replying directly to the topic.

Lots of boo hoo posters on here. Miserable bunch.

In theory you could eat only on monday and thursday and be totally fine. Love to see a 6 month study on that! I would volunteer if they paid me.

Yeah, well hunters maybe didn't make a kill every single day.

And when they did make a kill, they wolfed down those carcasses. They didn't put it in tupperware.

There is one doctor who fasts several days a week every week and then eats like a ravenous lion on days when he does eat.

But you need to experiment and the body needs to adjust ... it's hard work. Trial and error. Might make things worse if you don't know what you're doing.

I might try one meal a day ... or Warrior Diet all food within 4 hours ... was developed by an IDF Israel soldier ... seems that's how the soldiers ate. They had a huge meal at one long sitting and then off to battle.

Waste of time just eat a better diet, starving yourself doesn't work

You have no idea about fasting. It rebuilds your immunity. Immune System Reset via Stem Cell Activation: Prolonged fasting, particularly for 72 hours or more, triggers a "reset" by significantly lowering white blood cell counts. This process forces the body to recycle old or damaged immune cells. When eating resumes, hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow are activated, leading to the regeneration of new, healthy immune cells. This process was observed in both mice and a Phase 1 human clinical trial involving chemotherapy patients.

You lose strenth after 6 days of fasting. The body is designed to not eat for days. The modern food companies brain washed people.

. 32inch. Im 5 10 and 172 pounds.

What's this in new money?

Jesus HF, they did not do it voluntarily they were forced to. Cant get out and hunt or gather. You really are like a little chihuahua when you get going on something. Sink your tiny little teeth in start snarling and simply wont let go.

As Scuba said. Eat and exercise at a reasonable level. I do and weigh the same as I did at 18, I will be 74 in August.
