Jesus HF, they did not do it voluntarily they were forced to. Cant get out and hunt or gather. You really are like a little chihuahua when you get going on something. Sink your tiny little teeth in start snarling and simply wont let go.

As Scuba said. Eat and exercise at a reasonable level. I do and weigh the same as I did at 18, I will be 74 in August.

74 is not old. The human body was designed to fast. The studies show this. 72 hour fast boosts immune system.

You missed the point entirely.

You have no idea about fasting. It rebuilds your immunity. Immune System Reset via Stem Cell Activation: Prolonged fasting, particularly for 72 hours or more, triggers a "reset" by significantly lower

I missed nothing other than your inane babble. Post up a photo of yourself with the face blurred. Lets see what this fasting has done for you, I will do the same. Once again stop trying to come off as an expert on anything. Googling means diddly squat. Now continue on with your downward spiral.

I can meet you in Bangkok. We go to a gym. See who is stronger.

We cant test long life though. I take the word of the 117 woman - avoid toxic people.

Immune system? Im on no meds. Not been to a doctor in 4 years.

Adel Uni study - meat extends life.

But you can ignore the science. Your life.

I disagree. Ive lost no strength. Done lots of 40 to 48 hours. Feel better. Science says its good. Eat plenty of protein either side.

Humans 5000 years would have fasted all the time.

And what was their life expectancy ???

As @save the frogs pointed out, it's the longer, healthier folks fasting that will have a issue with muscle loss, during longer fast.

Am on one meal a day, lunch.

Challenging at first but is now routine.

I couldn't stick with that. There's days, if busy, won't eat till 1500, but I'll need something at 2000, or I'll end up eating before I sleep at midnight. My last 'snack' is 2000, then breakfast around 11-1200. Then off to the park or surf, for a short stroll with the dog.

Black coffee when I wake. That eating schedule has worked great for me. Stay under 80 kg easy.

Limited clean water

Hard to catch food

Fasting is 100% flexible. 16 to 48 hrs for me. Change it to suit me.

Hope you're not long fasting to detox / cleanse your liver or kidneys. Because that's BS and just a money grab for ignorant people. Body does that constantly, all be itself

Start with a 1 day fast. Each week add a day. I've fasted up to 5 days. Watch what you eat after a fast. You need to start with juices and slowing reintroduce food, otherwise?
Disaster pants.

Post-fast, if you do resistance training, you can add significant lean muscle mass the week after a fast. The main culprit that will get you to break a fast is not hunger, it's cravings. So fasting is also a mental exercise of will power.

You have no idea about fasting. It rebuilds your immunity. Immune System Reset via Stem Cell Activation: Prolonged fasting, particularly for 72 hours or more, triggers a "reset" by significantly lowering white blood cell counts. This process forces the body to recycle old or damaged immune cells. When eating resumes, hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow are activated, leading to the regeneration of new, healthy immune cells. This process was observed in both mice and a Phase 1 human clinical trial involving chemotherapy patients.

I've never met you. I dont fast to lose weight. You seem obsessed with weight. Maybe you had issues as a child and were bullied. Most likely. Fasting saves 2 hours a day of eating and boosts your immune system. Makes sense to me.

I think you have issues relating to weight. Common with females. Your issues linked to childhood. I know a skinny guy who was bullied as a kid. He was a fat kid. Go and address your issues.

No fat issues here, I'm athletic, but you can't stuff your face like you do, have to be careful what you eat, mostly healthy stuff

Mostly to save bothering with food. Eating all the time is modern day brainwashing. Somedays I eat berries. Other days nothing.

There is no reason to eat 3 meals a day. Humans existed for 99.9% of the time eating less often.

I eat foods I enjoy. I fast cause I feel better.

Ive read the science.

The people who lived as long as we did, had everything we have today when it comes to good genes, healthy food and lifestyle as well safety and wealth. Old Philosophers who used their brain to their last breath seems to had same lifespan as us. They lived in peace and used their brain without risking their lives. It is the average lifespan thats changed, not how long people could live. Good to know.

But why do you need to fast? Thats the question, why you want or need to do? Most people do not have a need for extreme diets or life restrictions, unless they need something extreme to follow to find inspiration or manage to accomplish their goals.

Fasting is normal. 3 meals a day is an abnormal modern thing. Food companies brainwashing people. You dont need breakfast. You dont need to eat every 8 hours. You don't even need protein daily unless exercising.

Well, an engine can run on any oil, but there is oils that is better than other! Same with human body, and you have pseudo science, and you have science that depended on the person, age, sex, +++, and the circumstances and many more things for what outcome you gets for the trails, even placebo effect. As long you believe, it works for awhile, and you will feel you are doing the right thing. Your brain is your factory, and your brain is driven by thoughts and also beliefs. Quite interesting actually.

You can choose to believe what you want, and thats fine, but to be sure you know and tell others, thats a different thing.

I haven't claimed you need specific numbers of meals, but when I was performing at my best in sports, I had minimum 4 meals + "snacks" meals, so depending on what you do.

If you study, better give your brain some nutrition you can work on even you do not exercise

Again, doesn't mean fasting is the best thing, if you eat crap food between.

The average person does not play sports.

Well, is it so straight forward if you eat clean whole food? Compared to what?

I havent read this study, so I cant really discuss this one, but again, for what reasons do you want to fast? I do not deny some people can have benefits by fasting, I only say normal people with normal activ lives. Why should they be fasting ?

Fasting gives your organs a rest. Constant food is bad.
