Seems illogical that the same criteria should apply to overseas transfers for a Marriage extension. What if the applicant doesn't yet qualify for state pension due to his age? Plenty married guys hereh aren't 66 yet, but I guess they use the Thai retirement age of 50, which doesn't reflect the reality of western retirement age. Many immigration offices won't accept proof of transfers for marriage extensions anyways. The only options at those offices are embassy verified income, or proof of income (pay stubs) from your work permit job inside of Thailand.

How bloody obtuse can they get? (rhetorical)

Income or Pension have to certified by The Embassy or Consulate in Thailand and Show income more than 40,000 Baht/month".Uk state pension, currently equates to b38.2k (lowest for quite a while) payment paid every 4 weeks, and as there's 13 x 4-weekly payments or approx b41383/month so meets the "more than 40,000 Baht/month".

I assume most of us on 'Support Thai wife' extensions use the b400k option.

Two of these 13 payments would be received in one calendar month giving 11 months at ฿38.2 and one month at ฿76.4. Immigration won't allow that. However, as mentioned above many will have some SERPS or S2P (or even some interest, savings or other income) inching them over the line.
