Some antisemites are selective, as they direct their hate at Arabs, not Jews.

In the various Gaza threads we had posters justifying the slaughter of tens of thousands of Palestinian children, who are apparently guilty or less than human because of their heritage.

Somehow those kids have guilt simply because of their ethnicity, so these posters support the killing or say "That will teach Hamas a lesson. Such blanket assertion of guilt simply because of the badness of some of similar heritage has a name: Racism.

We are seeing it again with Iran. The ayatollah was bad, so all Iranians get what they deserve, even if they hated the ayatollah.

That's racism.

Right so muslims who kill muslims get 72 virgins!

You are welcome to imagine all you want, it doesn't change history one iota. Labeling every Christian on the planet mentally ill is a rather cruel assessment, and one that is certainly very unnecessary in today's world of hatred, racism and intolerance.

Mentally ill isn't the word I would use, although its not far off the mark , personally I would label them as brainwashed, it's not really their fault, for most people it starts pretty much from when they learn to speak, even if their parents were non believers, it gets drilled into them from when they start school, it is not a subject one can opt out of.

There is a reason for that of course, no sane adult would be receptive to it all, and those that do "get religion" in their adult years generally do fit the description of mentally ill.

Being a practising christian certainly does not automatically guarantee one is devoid of hatred, racism or intolerance, The conflict between protestants and catholics in Northern Ireland being a perfect example,

The activities of sadistic nuns handing out beatings to their fellow catholics kids are well known, as was their treatment of young unmarried girls who became pregnant, and what happened to their illegitimate children was downright horrific ,

As for the kiddie fiddling priests, well nothing more need be said about that either,

Yes Yes I know, not every priest was a diddler , but plenty were , and they all enjoyed the protection of the mafia like catholic church , and many continue to do so

Absolute rubbish and you should be ashamed of yourself for spouting such inflammatory nonsense

I am a 77-year-old American male, and I was raised in a small town in Tennessee back when segregation was in full force. Blacks couldn't enter the movie theater or the washateria, and Blacks had their own restrooms in most places. Everyone in my family referred to Blacks as "Niggers", and I learned racism at a very young age, and it has followed me all of my life. As a result, I have always stayed away from entering into relationships with Blacks because in the back of my mind I perceive them as untrustworthy and prone to criminality. I don't understand their "street jive" or the Black culture. When I served with the US Marine Corp in the Vietnam war, the Blacks ran in groups, and we were more afraid of the Blacks that the "Gooks" that we were fighting. The military taught me to hate the Vietnamese people, and we looked upon them as dogs or subhuman, and we had a number of derogatory names to which we referred to them.

When I moved to Houston, Texas after the war, the place was loaded with Mexicans. I had never been around a Mexican before, so I had no real reason to look down on them, but I was quickly indoctrinated to believe that they were all worthless individuals, so I kept my distance.

During my professional career, I traveled 19 different countries, and I don't recall that I had problems with any particular race. I wasn't so keen on some of the cultural norms which tend to form one's character, but I never hated any of them. The same goes for my experience here in Thailand. I am not particularly racist toward them, but for the most part I have never met a Thai that I liked or trusted outside of my wife and her family. They all seem to have ulterior motives, and if they are involved in any type of business, they usually have some sort of scam going to take advantage of us foreigners. Actually, I never experienced racism towards myself until I moved to Thailand. I have interacted with some really nasty Thais who have been extremely racist toward me as a White American.

Racism is endemic in every society, and it has existed since the beginning of time until this day all around the world. There has to be a good reason why God assigned different languages and national boundaries to the various peoples after the Tower of Babel incident. This act established distinct nations and cultures, each with its own identity. We humans have created our own problems by turning our countries into multi-cultural communities, and it simply will not work out because of racism. When Jesus returns to set up His 1000-year reign, then the world will be united as one; but until then, racism will have an effect on everyone's life.

All I did was to ask for clarification!

Your response did not in any way answer that question!

But please don't bother to respond as I have now lost all interest in your waffle!

Twaddle.

White babies in Australia do not scream & cry when they see a full blooded Aboriginal.

But granted, dogs sure go Ape-Side over 'em.🙃🙃

Antisemitism is a misnomer actually. Other people from the same region, of various religions, are also considered semites, though not Jews. Maybe better to say 'anti-Jewish' which is pretty harsh, but maybe more accurate to what they mean. AntiZionist is pretty clear though (and isn't a racist epithet IMO - just stating a fact)

I think that you re just making that quote up

IME you don't find people who are well traveled or well educated to be racist, bigoted, or anti-semitic.

Racism is born out of fear. Someone is smarter than me, is going to take my job, or is bigger and stronger than me.

The most racist people are almost invariably at the bottom of any socio-economic group, be it white, Japanese, Chinese or Russian.

If I had said "very few gingers are weak people" would you still have required your "clarification" nobody else felt the need, I'll leave it at that , I won't add to your embarrassment, that would be cruel, there is no need ,

It would probably have been more accurate as hair colour as no bearing on weakness or strength.

That was my point!

I am no expert on the matter , I always wondered why the word anti-Semitic is used rather than simply anti jewish so i asked AI ...

In 1879, a German journalist named Wilhelm Marr wanted to replace the traditional German word for Jew-hatred (Judenhass) with something that sounded more modern and objective. At the time, "science" was being used to categorize people into races, so he chose "Antisemitismus" to make it sound like a rational opposition to a distinct racial group (the Semites) rather than a simple religious or personal dislike of Jews.

  • Pseudoscientific Appeal: In the 19th century, people were obsessed with "race science." Calling it "Antisemitism" made the hatred feel like a legitimate political or biological theory rather than just old-fashioned bigotry.

  • The Linguistic Umbrella: Even though "Semitic" includes Arabs and others, the term Antisemitism was coined specifically and exclusively to target Jews. Using it to mean "hatred of all Semitic-speaking people" is technically a logical error based on how the word was invented.

Does that sound about right?

If you say so , How many ginger people have you fought with, I'm pretty sure the answer is zero, I fought with a few and invariably only got a silver medal.

Whilst hair colour itself may have no direct bearing on strength the abuse many gingers face as they grow up certainly toughens them up , I seriously doubt there are many ginger snowflakes mincing around,

Now those with blue hair , lol, thats a different matter altogether

Is it normal for full blown aborigines to come into contact with white babies ? I didn't think that sort of thing was encouraged

As for the dog thing , all my aussie mates reckon the aborigines have , how can i put it politely , a distinctive bouquet , if they can notice it , then it will probably knock a dog off its feet

No. That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that the term 'antisemitism' refers to slurs against more than just Jews - but is rarely understood that Jews are not the only semitic people. Anti-zionism is pretty clear - people opposed to a race-based apartheid state being created in Israel and Palestine. That's what I was saying.

In this day and age , its well known and accepted that Anti Semitism refers solely to Jews .

The word has moved on from the actual literal meaning

George Wallace was the Alabama senator that said "Segregation now. Segregation tomorrow. Segregation forever." He said this because it was unjust for the common American who never owned slaves to be forced to live with the freed slaves.

George Wallace was a multi-term governor of Alabama, not a senator. He also ran for the presidency of the U.S. on a third-party ticket in 1968 and sought the presidential nomination of the Democratic Party three times. He spoke the famous phrase "Segregation now! Segregation tomorrow! Segregation forever!," during his inaugural address as governor in 1963.

Most historians believe a speechwriter for Wallace, Asa Carter, came up with the phrase. At the time, Carter was head of a Ku Klux Klan splinter group and one of the best known advocates of hardline segregation in the U.S. https://www.cobpl.org/resources/archives/aids/AR1265.pdf

Later in life, Wallace apologized for those words. "Wallace recanted his racist views and asked for the forgiveness of black Americans." https://www.npr.org/1998/09/14/1024881/remembering-george-wallace

He told a reporter from the Washington Post in 1991 "his biggest mistake came during his 1963 inauguration as governor when he stood on a spot in the state capitol and shouted: 'Segregation now! Segregation tomorrow! Segregation forever!'" You can read all the details in the article linked below.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/daily/sept98/wallace090591.htm

George Wallace is an interesting example of racism and an attempt at redemption. His excuse for racism had been that no one could be elected to public office in Alabama at that time without supporting segregation. Wallace also opposed the intrusion of the Federal government into what he considered state issues, the so-called "states' rights" justification.

yes you're right he was a governor.

I don't see any problem though and I don't see why he apologized unless he got pressured to do so.

Imagine the Thai government gave citizenship to millions of farangs and then the Thais decided they were going to segregate the farangs so they don't have to mix together. Would that be wrong? I say no because the Thais were put upon by their government and they have the right to decide their own internal borders.

No it isn't. Racism means you're being rejected for whatever reason they see fit. Maybe fear but maybe they had bad experiences or just don't want the hassle of dealing with outsiders. It's up to them remember. If you enter into another peoples space and get rejected then that's on you. Deal with it or go away.
