ISRAEL ATTACKS IRAN!

Featured Replies

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — President Donald Trump has appealed to the Iranian people to “take over your government” after the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran.

He said: “It will be yours to take.”

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. AP’s earlier story follows below.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The U.S. and Israel launched an attack Saturday on Iran, with the first apparent strike happening near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iranian media reported strikes nationwide, and smoke could be seen rising from the capital.

President Donald Trump said in a video posted on social media that the U.S. had begun “major combat operations in Iran.” He claimed Iran has continued to develop its nuclear program and plans to develop missiles to reach U.S.

It also wasn’t immediately clear whether the 86-year-old Khamenei was in his offices at the time. He hasn’t been seen publicly in days as tensions with the United States have grown. The attack comes as the United States has assembled a vast fleet of fighter jets and warships in the region to try to pressure Iran into a deal over its nuclear program.

Roads to Khamenei’s compound in downtown Tehran had been shut down by authorities as other blasts rang out across the capital. Neighboring Iraq closed its airspace, according to the Ministry of Transport.

This is a significant and volatile scenario. Based on the real-time news feed you provided, we are witnessing the beginning of a major military conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

According to the report, it is 8:51 AM GMT on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Here is the immediate "what happens next" based on the trajectory of the events described:

1. Escalation of "Operation Epic Fury"

The Pentagon has signaled that this is a multi-day operation. While the first wave hit Tehran and various provincial cities, the US has explicitly stated its goal is to "annihilate" Iran’s navy and "raze" its missile industry.

  • Next step: Expect continuous sorties from US carrier strike groups and regional bases targeting hardened silo sites, command-and-control centers, and the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) infrastructure.

2. Retaliatory Cycles

Iran has already launched three waves of ballistic missiles and drones toward Israel.

  • Next step: The success or failure of Israel’s "Aerial Defense Array" (Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow systems) will determine the severity of the next phase. If there are significant Israeli civilian casualties, Israel’s "Operation Lion’s Roar" will likely expand from surgical strikes to a much broader campaign against Iranian leadership and infrastructure.

3. Economic Shockwaves

The report mentions explosions at Kharg Island, which handles 90% of Iran’s oil exports.

  • Next step: Global oil markets will react violently. As Monday morning approaches in global financial hubs, expect a massive spike in Brent Crude prices. There is also a high risk of Iran attempting to block the Strait of Hormuz, a move that would choke 20% of the world's oil supply.

4. Domestic Unrest in Iran

Donald Trump has explicitly called for the Iranian people to "take over your government."

  • Next step: This puts the Iranian domestic security apparatus (the Basij) on high alert. You may see a brutal crackdown on any internal dissent or "rising up" as the regime fights for its survival against both foreign and internal threats.

5. Diplomatic Collapse

Only hours before the strike, Oman reported a "breakthrough" where Iran agreed not to stockpile enriched uranium.

  • Next step: That diplomatic channel is now effectively dead. International bodies like the UN Security Council will likely convene for emergency sessions, though with the US directly involved in combat, any "ceasefire" resolutions will likely be vetoed.

Summary Table of the Conflict Status

Feature

US/Israel ("Epic Fury" / "Lion's Roar")

Iran (Retaliation)

Primary Targets

Tehran, Oil Terminals, Missile Silos

Israeli "Occupied Territories"

Declared Goal

Regime change and nuclear disarmament

Retaliation for "aggression"

Current Status

Ongoing aerial/naval bombardment

3rd wave of missile/drone launches

Would you like me to track the specific locations of the reported explosions on a map or analyze the potential impact on global oil prices in more detail?

Good Goddes, have we got another nationalist flag-waver on here? Can't you be just a little bit creative?

Big missiles being waved around give a certian type of individual some sort of sexual pleasure - probably as result of thwarted life which made bad choices along the way.

The War president was itching for another fight, he somehow has to prove his manhood and I think his impotency is probably getting the best of him. Nobody knows where this is going to lead and though very few seem to think that it's a possibility this could be a crippling 20-year-long, 10 trillion dollar war for the US. Everybody seems to be underestimating Iran, their capabilities, their economic resources, and their willingness to reign terror upon America.

At the same time people have a tendency to overestimate America, their military which is run by a boy scout troop leader, and what seems to be forgotten in all this fog is the fact that the US has not won a significant war in 80 years.

Israel has become the new Middle Eastern terrorist state, so there's no surprise there.

I would expect Iran to retaliate by hitting American air bases. All American enemies have to wonder why they can't hit the American mainland. Perhaps they have planned for this but I see nothing they can retaliate with.

It really is their paranoia and agression towards their indigenous people and their neighbours creates the very threat they then draw in the US to negate.

Sadly this was coming for a long time, and Israel wants Iran to pay for previous actions so they were going to this already. The US and Israel against Iran, along with other likely help, is going to destroy Iran fairly quickly, especially seeing the people of Iran are against their leadership, which is what's really sad. So many dying wanting peace and stability. The same with Myanmar. The bases might be hit but the retaliation will be immense. America isn't in a position to screw around any longer.

Look, I really like your informative posts. But will you cut it out with the giant headlines, please? I'm betting they make most scroll on by. It's not emphasis, it's bloody terrorism, is what!

Now to reply NOT IN GIANT BOLD CAPITALS lest I be seen as annoying. (I'm annoying enough as it is.)

For once, Trump is right: This will be a multi-day war, much like Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq and Gaza. Ahem, would you like to know how many days those took before the US ran with its missiles between its legs?

Israel struck first. That's their usual tactic, no surprise there. Coordinated, I'm sure with the US follow-up so the US would not be seen as the aggressor. Seems like America is now a pre-emptive strike nation. Let's him 'em when they least expect it!

"Only hours before the strike, Oman reported a 'breakthrough' where Iran agreed not to stockpile enriched uranium." Why does the US always have to be pulling the strings?

What's next, the US stealing Iran's oil as they are doing to Venezuela? Very likely.

Will the US do to Iran what it did to Venezuela--leave the country foundering with no governance?

The students would have defeated the regime with nonviolence. Bit all the US and Israeli govts know if the big stick. Shameful!

And how does the US intend to pay for this war? This govt is going to bankrupt America for generations. Will China call in its loan?

Canadians, I think it's high time we burned down the White House again...

Trump did absolutely nothing to try to sell this war to the American people

He's really acting like a dictator.

Now that he did this I hope it's short and that Iran loses.

I doubt the Iranian people will be liberated but a weakened Iran will help the Ukraine war effort which is ironic as Trump clearly favors Russia.

Trump waited too long to act. Tens of thousands of Iranians opposed to the mullahs have been jailed, sentenced to death, or shot in the streets--not to mention Trump gave China time to rearm the Revolutionary Guard. I don't know if the opposition is still organized enough to hurt the government enough to take them down.

LBC reporting a US base in Abu Dhabi has now been hit. We can expect that the Iranians will now be invoking the dead man's hand. Automonous ITCG attack groups shorne of central command instructions are ordered to act indepenedantly. Hormuz will be hit the best thet can and all missiles will be unleashed before they are destroyed.

Many of us dislike AI and consider it to be underperforming at best, everything that comes from AI feels canned, artificial and proforma at best, and this forum is better served with genuine answers and real facts that come from human beings, not from sheer mindlessness.

I broadly agree and use it judiciously when intelligently prompted and directed iy can provide summary insights. Over on Reditt where I spend most of my time these days user pushback is firece and unrelenting but here most of the posts are started with AI so it's already a poisoned well so to speak.
