Home visits - Computer Help please

Featured Replies

I know I've asked this before without getting much help, but I want to try again.

I am basically computer literate. I need someone to come to my condo to help me. Company or private individual, I will pay expenses and whatever the company or person charges. I used to load my PC onto my bike and take it to Pattaya, but I don't ride my bike anymore (too old), and I don't have a car.

I live in Soi 10 Thepprasit, so it's not exactly out of town. There used to be a company years ago, but they disappeared.

I just hope someone can help me.

To do what??

Maybe the thread would have got better response in the Pattaya forum?

Not everyone knows where Soi 10 Thepprasit is.

I meant illiterate. I don't know what I'm doing apart from the very basics. Email, Word , search. I can write a good business letter and a few other things, but when I have to change things, I am stuck. There must be someone in Pattaya or nearby who will help. Soi 10 is the nearest Soi to Easy Cart on Thepprasit Road. I am quite happy to pay the travel expenses for anyone. I just need help.

There is a few listed here.

I tried looking for that, but when it didn't work, I went to Pattaya City Expats Club, but that was no help. I remember many years ago, when there was only one, and we met at a hotel at the end of the beach. Then the executive committee couldn't agree, and a split occurred. I ended up as a Founder Member of Pattaya Expats Club.

I haven't been to a meeting for years because of my hearing, but as you reminded me, I am still a member (life membership), and I am going there next to have a look.

i still think you should bring the pc to tuk com and tell them what you want, and while you are there, also tell them to make a backup when everything works, and write down on a note how to

revert back to the backup

Did you actually try to contact any of the people there who do home visits?

For example:

Khun "Aae"

Computer Service

Telephone No.081-743-7073

What type of computer do you have? What OS?

This makes sense

Iwould suggest taking it to a place to get repaired adn upgraded you can always use a taxi. Probably safer and more cost effective/.

I have used Khun Aae several times and he was very reasonable - 300 baht per hour (it may be more now). He even built a couple of computers for me several years ago as well as doing some upgrades.

If you call, his wife usually answers and will take your information and arrange for a time to come to your location. When he arrives, speak loudly as he does have a bit of a hearing problem.

If you are not comfortable with TukCom or any of the other recommendations so far, I would recommend Wattana Systemation. It's located on Pattaya Glang (Central Pattaya Road) across from Foodland. I've had laptops repaired and had hard drives replaced and a variety of other work performed, all with excellent results. They may be able to provide someone to help you with an in-house repair if you call them. I bought a couple of computers there and they deliver and set up the computer and provide any assistance/information I required. You mention that transportation is a problem so I would recommend you simply book a Grab taxi to transport your computer if necessary but call them first.
