Even reserves for 96 days, things escalates quickly. To quick for my taste, and it seems I need to make new plans for my upcoming trip.

There were long queues here yesterday at some stations. Additionally, my friend was trying to book a green bus from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai and told me that they are saying only a limited service running because of the fuel situation and all bookings must be made 10 days in advance.

The Aussie (irish) equivalent of Dad's Army might be the iconic poem "Said Hanrahan" ?

"We'll all be rooned," said Hanrahan

Starmer, Rayner Et Al.?

You mean, we didn't run out of oil in 2010 ??? cheesy

Big OIl & RU couldn't be happier today.

Meanwhile, I just got back from our local PTT, Pathum Thani.

Signs up on diesel pumps "waiting for delivery", they were only running one pump per island but no restriction on quantity.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

2 Gold Stars to Mr Dwyer!

Thanks, i will add them to the one i got for my drawing of the lead singer of Chicory Tip when i was 11 .

Ayutthaya limited to 500 baht , not sure of status of gasoline or diesel.

Last time i entered a pump was around 2 weeks ago to get 400 baht worth of 95 in a container for the mc. They limited me to 300 baht back then.

I live near Phetchabun. To get diesel, I have to get up early, about 6 a.m., drive to a fuel station, get in line, buy 500 baht of diesel, drive to another station, get in line again, and buy 500 baht more. I have to repeat this until my tank is full. ☹️

PTT: Yesterday I refueled in Surin, Gasohol95, no problems, no queues, the price was the same as always, only diesel was out.

I don't know if there is a quantity limit, I always fill up for 500B.

Dad's Army.

This has revealed the downside of diesel in passenger vehicles. In Thailand there are SO many vehicles, especially pick-up trucks, that use diesel, it leaves the authorities little choice but to ration. The main reason is all the heavy goods vehicles also need diesel - a lot of it - as they travel up and down the country making deliveries. So they become the priority. I don't see the same level of restrictions or shortages (yet) for cars/SUVs using petrol. But I guess they have to get into the same queue with everyone else.

  • I've thought about that, but I think I'd need to get solar panels installed on my house first. Otherwise, just like fossil fuels, I'd be dependent upon the state or some business to have electricity I could buy.

Diesel very hard to find in Sakon Nakhon and Udon Thani provinces. I'm almost certain preferential access to supplies is being applied.

In Loei, queue at the petrol station, limited supply THB 500 per car, I took the precaution of filling our two pickups + 70 litres in canisters.

Panic buying in Samoeng for days and still going on. I think they stopped the filling of canisters but people are probably just filling up multiple times a day and siphoning it out at the their house. I got 91 except for one day when it was out but diesel keeps running out I noticed.

Exactly what I was thinking.

They end up storing 10s if not 100s of gallons and eventually whole villages will burn down.

In the UK you're allowed to store 30 litres....which seems excessive to me.

Private Frazer from Dads Army, it popped into my head as soon as I read your question.

Regarding fuel, I filled my car up a week ago with 1100 baht of 95octane petrol, I was the only car at the gas station in Kathu, Kathu, Phuket at the time.

You are very lucky as I can see from the picture your house is very close to an electric pylon carrying the electric cables, that means you will get your electric supplied a lot faster than most other people. 😃

Them solar panels are < 5 meters from the inverter, and inverter is < 1 meter from breaker box 🙄

Almost swap cars for a photo of ours, but ours charges at the front grill, and don't think I could tolerate the negative replies when pointed out cheesy

Samui: Only the first day people were hoarding fuel, since then "no problems", fuel enough and no queue-lines. Don't panic, the government says there is enough for about 3 months, and they begin to fins supplies from other sources than the Middle East.
