Walk right into the twots! Unsurprising as Pattaya has become a complete dive that attracts the worst of the worst, farang and Thai. Every nation produces morons (including my own)—and not knocking folks who have retired there—but there are certain nationalities that have appeared en masse recently that think bad manners, uncouthness and scumbaggery are virtues. Just hope they don’t venture to quieter parts of the kingdom.

People are disrespectful all over the world, a lot of it in tourist areas, where they think they can do whatever they want, and some where they wouldn't do the same thing in their own country, which is looking at the visited country with a low opinion. Thailand does this to itself with it's prostitution and easy women reputation, which brings the crowd that looks at women as objects already. No wonder that thinking also follows with disrespect in other areas.

Like another mentioned, this usually doesn't happen elsewhere in Thailand, as most who live here know they need to respect and follow the laws if they want to stay here.

Absolutely love Indians - but I truly find their behavior a complete enigma !!!

Impossible to generalise of course - particularly across 1.5 billion people within India and a wider heritage of an additional 54 million.... But dumbing down and simplifying things - Indian's have a very special skill for accidentally, inadvertently, innocently pushing buttons to drive another person insane with fury yet unable to react because intent was nothing other than positive.

A truly lovely people, and that holds for the most part of all Indian's I've met - perhaps the nicest race of people on the planet while somehow inexplicably being the most infuriating at the same time !!!

If you look at the list of CEO's of Western companies, you will find a lot of them are Indian. Male and female. They are intelligent, and very well educated. Articulate.

I worked with one who started as a junior chemist. He later rose to be the president of a company selling iron ore, based in China.

I understand the infuriating aspect, Indians seem to have an ingrained assumption of racial superiority.

Some people never get decent, it's a very difficult game which is why many enjoy it, I'm 5 handicap, but you can still have fun shooting 100 just don't be slow

No.3 Indians, walking 4 abreast holding hands in the middle of the road. Takes all my willpower not to floor the accelerator.

Richard, you don't see it, living in Pattaya I see foreigners behaving badly every day.

You are tucked away, I think Bangkok if I remember, obviously a better class of foreigners where you are.

I'm not talking bad about every foreigner in Thailand, my best friends here are foreigners.

I travel around Thailand frequently, I see many courteous, respectful foreigners.

"Tucked away"........in the capital (population about 12 million) of Thailand?

You think that you are not "tucked away" in Pattaya (floating population of about 330,000 including "expats" and transients)?

A notorious, veritable ghetto, of dysfunctional "displaced Western persons", that the scum of the world is inexorably drawn to?

You judge foreigners by their behaviour in the world famous Red Light City of The East?

You believe you have a balanced view, superior to Richards?

Read your own words and understand that you really, REALLY, need to get out a bit more.

I think the general of thumb is that the people that come from the most populous nations tend to have the least amount of etiquette when it comes to dealing with crowds, strangers on the street, lines, people on sidewalks, and things like that. They are used to jostling their way through massive crowds and it's just survival for them, it's not a conscious thing.

Just be grateful you don't have to live in a place like India or China with that type of overpopulation.

Busy narrow pavements, my wife and I walk more or less single file. It drives me mad when a couple then walk towards us, side by side, and expect us to step off into the road so they can stay side by side.

Assigning traits to a whole nation is a bit silly, but *****y Indians walking in the road.......especially on busy roads like BKK soi 4 , soi 8, soi 11.......

when you get bigger, you will realize men have to manspread because of natural obstacles to sit with the knees pressed together

...walking on the sidewalks in pattaya. there are two clear groups, who believe they can just make everyone else get out of their way, despite there being ample room for everyone to walk past each other without any issues.

  1. young chinese men walking with a woman. they walk down the middle of the sidewalks and expect everyone else to get out of their way. i lived in huai kwang for longer than i wished to and it was the same, as nine in ten of people walking down the street were native chinese working illegally in the area. but in that area the sidewalks are tiny, so was maybe excusable. but on the main streets of pattaya they are easily wide enough, but they still do the exact same thing. walk right down the middle without any consideration.

  1. really overweight female russians and westerners. they do the same as the chinese men, but sometimes they are even worse, they actually veer towards you to make you move out of the way, even if it was not necessary. they also manspread on a baht bus taking up three seats that an average thai would take up.

can anyone please explain these c--nty cultural behaviors, or is that just the new modern world we live in now...

The classic overachievers, more muscle than mind, and just enough sense to always pick on someone who can’t hit back.

Can only concur with that opinion as it relates to Indian Nationals as tourists or migrants.

The 2nd generation of those same seem to discover the advantage of social humility.

Unfortunately the ever critical judgmental Westerners can never recognize as a problem with themselves.

My friends are similar to myself, good natured, respectful, caring, 'minding our own business' type of people.

Not the type who can't help themselves by posting antagonizing, hostile comments to other members.

Yet seemingly without knowing it - you frame your comments in the very same antagonistic manner to which you so frequently object and become fragile about.

When I make a comment, it's my comment, it's a forum, I'm welcome to make a comment.

I'm different to most here, I have a different opinion to some but people can't deal with that, they become weird and attack me. I find most of these comments I receive are antagonizing.

I rarely interact with other members due to their fragility, mostly, I only interact when I am notified.

Like I said I 'mind my own business', I only make comment to the OP or article, I RARELY interact with others (if I do I never comment with hate, it's usually humour) only when I've been replied to.

Daily I read comments posted by others but I never reply nastily or with hostility, I just keep scrolling but some here have an illness, they can't keep scrolling, they must reply nastily from their warrior keyboards.

You’re entitled to comment. So is everyone else.

But you cannot claim you “mind your own business” while also calling others fragile, ill, and antagonistic. That is the antagonism.

If you keep getting the same reaction, it is probably not everyone else. It is your tone.

Disagreement is not an attack. People replying to you is how a forum works. If you expect others to scroll past your comments, then you should be prepared to do the same instead of crying that you are attacked.

Yes, it’s going to be hot on the golf course this morning… just about to set off from the hotel to Grand Prix.

And yes, at breakfast this morning some people were very polite others just plowed their way through… of course the Thais were very polite

This is an accurate statement.

As do the British, Chinese and Americans, in my experience.

There is an incorrect one?

I thought this thread would be about Indians... because that's who are blocking the pavements and roads in Pattaya walking side-by-side holding hands lately. Haven't run into any Russians or Chinese personally - but I don't usually go out during the day.

I mind my own business, I don't interact with other postings, I don't stick my nose in without being notified.

Some here willy nilly interfere, always commenting needlessly.

You and I would NEVER, EVER interact if you kept SCROLLING past my comments , try it.

You don't have to interact with every comment.

I'm not the one who keeps crying that I was a attacked - I interact with comments you make, either positively or negatively based purely on content, and that's the same for anyone else's content.

This idea that you feel you can post comment that are often triggering and inflammatory and everyone 'should' scroll by - is preposterous - the forum designed for discussion and that is exactly what you incite with many of you comments.

Oh, is that what you call it.

I'm crying (as you call it) because I responding politely to your needless interactions.

Stop annoying me, don't interact with me, you will find that you no longer hear my cries.

Leave me alone

You've just posted in a separate thread calling the whole forum 'a pack of wafflers'... you think thats polite ?

You are seemingly oblivious to the negative attention you draw due to your antagonistic posts - yet complain when they do receive attention - its rather juvenile and childish in a primary school cry-baby kind of way.

I'll ignore, or comment on posts, your or others as much as I want, thanks - if calling out some of the rubbish you post is annoying you - thats just tough for you - you can scroll past my posts if you don't like them or avoid making juvenile, trollish or antagonistic comments in the first place.
