3. Understand the Songkran regulationsSongkran is greate fun, but keep these rules in mind:

• Splashing or powdering someone without consent can be fined up to ฿10,000.

• Damaging phones or property can face up to 3 years’ jail or a ฿60,000 fine.

• Harassing or unwanted touching can face up to 10 years’ jail or a ฿200,000 fine.

• Showing up nude or in obscene outfits can receive a ฿5,000 fine.

• Drinking and driving can cost you a licence suspsension (with jail time and fines up to ฿20,000).

• Avoid high-pressure water guns, as assault charges can earn you up to 2 years in jail or ฿4,000 fine.
