The Rock Music Thread

Featured Replies

If you think dance music is all senseless noise and it's rock that makes the world go round, post your thoughts, lyrics, info and vids here.

So, without further ado, and before you leather clad fogeys start getting all excited about Judie Tzuke's lyrics or Richie Blackmore's guitar solo's,

or arguing if 'Back In Black' was the best rock debut album of all time or if Jimmy hendrix really did take drugs..

I'll kick it of with a top class tune from a band that really knows how to rock..!

It's Danzig with 'Mother' :o

Great selection Rob! I take it the Music Forum isn't happening? Well, anyway just listened to the Kaiser Chiefs and Muse for the first time. Great bands, eh?

Thanks to torrents I was able last night to listen for the first time in years to some mid-70s Stones stuff...Melody, Memory Motel, 100 Years Ago....true gems!

Oh yes!! This is a great one. I have been able to listen to all their stuff now and yes and great band. Micro Cuts comes to mind.

What about a Punk thread , or is it all under this topic?

Hey guys (cos I can't find any other girls in these music threads) let's keep the seperate music style seperate ... said in the nicest possible way... (KE) :o

Agreed.

Deathmetal, heavymetal, thrashmetal doesn't belong in the Rock music thread.

Open up another thread for the seperate Genre.

Maybe as time goes on, somebody somewhere will open a music thread.

Oh I mean, somewhere on this particular forum.

What are you guys talking about? This thread started with Danzig for God's sake, then went on to Pantera. This thread started with metal!

^^

Fair enough. But we're gonna need a seperate thread for the classic rock bands - led zep, etc...

^ Ace of Spades! That's a TUNE! :o

Hey no Kayo. Sounds like music facism to me (LOL) keep it all in here that way we get exposure to stuff that we may not have heard before and find that we like it.

Rock didn't end in 1979, so let's have it all here, '60s, '70s, Punk, '80s, Indie, Heavy Metal, Grunge, Thrash. Did I forget some..? I'm sure you'll find some more...

Like from this...

to this..

30 years apart and two different styles, niether of them are 'Rock' but they are and they both rock..!

Turn it up... heck even Status Quo rock if it's played loud enough..

Get a load of this... Roxy Music - In Every Dream Home a Heartache they must have been on some fantastic drugs.

I used to have the album this is from 'For Your Pleasure' and after seeing this I'll need to get hold of a copy again.

Here's a few precious drops of pure rock n' roll essence. Bottle it up in your vial reserved for the dark times.

...too bad I didn't log on to this thread for a while! Now it says videos are no longer available...

Anything that Keith plays is rock. Even when Jagger forced him into disco in the late 70s.....

I disagree on Stuss Quo...or maybe my stereo jst ain't loud enough :o

Thanks to Meadish for the Neil Young song...I didn't know this one yet, and yes, Young as Richards is pure rock('n'roll)...although Youngs country stuff he did lately escapes me a bit...
