How do you mistranslate "falling stones" to prick?

Nope, a falling brick and a falling stone/rock are two very different words.

Something has obviously been lost in the translation.

I used to live about 6 miles from this road, its in a place called conisborough between Rotherham and Doncaster, they used to get the sign nicked within hours of it being replaced, I think Rotherham council has now changed the name of the road.
