Psychic sheep predicts New Zealand rugby victory

Sonny Wool, New Zealand's first 'psychic' sheep, correctly predicts a home victory for New Zealand's first match of the Rugby World Cup.

They are claiming some Maori fuc**d some sense into him.......

Thanks for that, Bill. I had never heard it before. I was mezmerized by the haunting melody.

Haunting voice.

I like it. I wouldn't go out and buy a cd, but I'm glad I had the pleasure of hearing it.

And he plays the guitar left handed.

Half time and the Pumas looking good, despite England resorting to the low phsychological tactic of wearing the colours of a truly formidable team.

It was a match where one team would have to change to their alternate strip - England's white and Argentina's pale blue and white are too similar. Especially if it was muddy.

But it was a woeful England. Very disappointed with the play, as was Martin Johnson.

They said it …

John Cleese, in his comedy act at the Opera House last Saturday night:

''Australia - the country so laid-back it can't be bothered to take the Union Jack off its flag.''

Sam Stosur - well done!

Sam Stosur - well done!

Gutsy performance, especially after being all but washed up from a debilitating virus that sidelined her for the better part of two years.

Standing ovation for Sam Stosur.

Sam Stosur - well done!

3rded that.

But what did Serena Williams say? I've seen comments that the great lump was unhappy, but not the actual cause or effect.

Australian High Commissioner to be withdrawn from NZ?

PRIME Minister Julia Gillard was stopped from getting on a bus with other foreign leaders at a Pacific Islands forum in New Zealand - and told by the driver to get on the bus for spouses instead.

New Zealand's Internal Affairs department revealed the incident happened at the Auckland forum last week and Ms Gillard was offered an apology as soon as officials found out, stuff.co.nz reports.

The driver was immediately told of the mix-up and Ms Gillard was allowed on the leaders' bus, shuttling dignitaries from a hotel to the waterfront, a department spokesman said.

The driver was not used again during the forum.

Ms Gillard was not offended by the incident, according to an aide cited by TVNZ.

It was not the only mix-up during the forum.

At the opening ceremony, the MC told leaders' spouses to "come up and meet your husbands".

Ms Gillard was heard joking with her partner Tim Mathieson about the slight and put her arm around him as they left.

The gaffes are perhaps even more surprising considering the predecessor to New Zealand's current Prime Minister John Key was Helen Clark, who held the position for almost nine years.

Another New Zealand saga....

Kiwi woman kept as sex slave in Philippines

A New Zealand woman has told how she was kidnapped, beaten and forced into prostitution after being duped by a Facebook invitation to join a martial arts school.

Mary Elizabeth Jones, 39, was held captive in a tiny, filthy room for five and a half months and forced to have sex with up to nine men a day, after being kidnapped in the Philippines.

The martial arts enthusiast's ordeal began when she answered a message from a top martial arts group, inviting her to a month's intense training in the country in October.

"They were meant to be world class and I thought this was a chance for me to learn from the best," said Ms Jones.

But after being picked up from Iloilo City's airport by the purported leader of the group, Ms Jones was robbed of her belongings and thrown into the bug-infested room.

She was visited by up to nine men a day and forced to have sex with them. Each paid 5000 pesos ($140).

Obviously not a one way traffic.

Happens TOO much here in NZ.

Some girls who come here, do so for the dosh, but end up as sex slaves.

Our rugby team might be shit (since we got a NZ coach), but Australia's cycling future is looking good:

World Championships

He was a fave for ABs job.

Robbie is a top coach, check out the Crusaders under him.

OZ forwards not getting stuck in, the skipper gave away penalties that cost the game.

Ya cannot blame any coach for that.

ROLL ON NEXT SUNDAY

The NZ Warriors have advanced to the NRL Grand Final

20-12 victory over the Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park.

Be scared MANLY.........

VERY SCARED !!!!!

40 foods Australians like to call their own.

In a land as diverse as Australia, there's a lot of local grub to put on your plate. like... witchetty grubs, yummy.

And no arguing about the exact "origins." That's poor table manners

No Australian has ever worked out why Americans use "marinara" to mean tomato sauce.

Many Kiwis will not agree to everything, LOL, but a good read..........

No. 35 - pea and ham soup - served up in the Swedish Army every Thursday lunchtime since time immemorial.

Definitely not an Oz original, or even British, as the artiv

cle implies.

Swedes probably picked it up from the time of Karl Gustav, who went on a tour of Europe, with his army, basing himself in Poland. (A Swedish territory, like Finland)

Fish 'n' <deleted> chips ????

Come on!!

The sunshine might be yours for most of the year, but F&C in the sunshine on Brighton Pier was the height of a summer holiday for me. (Margate was a good alternative, Sarf'end for the funfair)

I'll let the Kiwis discuss the Pavlova.

Personally, I thought she brought it back from Europe.

Oooops !!

#24 - Prawn Cocktail - God give me strength!

You need MEDITERRANEAN prawns for a proper PC - not even Dublin Bay prawns are acceptable.

Sausage rolls - I ask you!

Christmas scoff since time began in my family - couldn't afford the turkey (or even the roast spuds 'n Brussels, sometimes) But sausage nossidge - always.

18 - Chicken Parmigiani - you've screwed up a classic Italian dish and called it Australian?

Be gelato next, I shouldn't wonder.
