Doesn't the cool season arrive between mid-Dec and mid-January?

When you see Thais wearing wooly hats and thick jackets...it's arrived. :o

Or when taking a morning shower with cold water is like shock therapy. :D

I just read through seventeen pages of this and all I can say is that I want you kids to turn off the telly and go outside and play a while. The fresh air will do you good.

Before it rains.

Which it might soon.

Cant really tell, its still dark out.

Oh god, I am doing it too.......

BANGKOK POST

ENVIRONMENTWATER CRISIS

Six months of drought still ahead

Most of the country faces at least six more months of severe drought with 51 provinces already in the grip of a severe water shortage and the Northeast the hardest hit region.

Many villagers are fleeing parched fields looking for jobs in Bangkok and there has been talk of water rationing.

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his cabinet, meeting in Ubon Ratchathani, yesterday agreed that immediate government help was needed.

Damage to farms and the people's livelihood was increasing rapidly and the situation was already critical in many areas.

A shorter than usual rainy season had left major reservoirs only half full, prompting fears there would not be enough water to last the next summer.

Government spokesman Jakrapob Penkair said immediate steps would be taken to ensure distribution of water for household and farm use.

Cloud seeding would begin as soon as possible. Assessments would ensure operations concentrated first on areas where rain was most urgently needed and the humidity was right.

Mr Jakrapob said artificial rainmaking was costly, but aiding farmers in distress was more important.

For the longer term, the cabinet had approved a yearly budget allocation of seven billion baht to bring tapwater to 16,000 chronically drought-stricken villages nationwide, he said.

The system was already installed in a number of villages and the Interior Ministry has turned on the tap for residents living along the pipeline who faced water shortage, the spokesman said.

Deputy Interior Minister Sutham Saengprathum said an initial survey showed seven million rai of crops nationwide had been ruined by lack of water. The situation was less serious in provinces close to rivers, but inland areas such as Udon Thani, Buri Ram and Ubon Ratchathani were experiencing deepening hardship.

Drought-fighting measures would require collaboration from the state and private sectors.

He said the effects may be alleviated through sounder management of water harnessed from rivers. The most pressing concern was that the water shortage could become truly critical by May next year.

Mr Thaksin said the government would go on the offensive in tackling the drought. ``We won't wait until the problem strikes before figuring out what to do,'' he said.

Meanwhile, the Nakhon Ratchasima provincial office has urged residents to use water sparingly and warning that rationing might be necessary.

As the shortage bites deeper, farmers who have lost their crops are heading to Bangkok for work, many say they are penniless and in debt.

Thursday changeable and temporarily very mild 8 degrees. Speedy west wind. In the night to Friday partly strong rains, till the morning even in the lower regions changing to snow. On Friday and Saturday changeable conditions and heavy clouds, especially along the Alps occasionally snowfall. Cold, 1 to 2 degrees. On Sunday probably occasionally sunny, but further cold.

Oh god, I am doing it too.......

It's catchy isn't it?

Reminds me of bus-stop conversations with strangers. You can't talk in detail in case the bus comes so you have to be brief.

And you can't........Ah! here comes the No.74. See you again. Bye.

This is the only true weather forecast for the Kingdom. I'm surprised that the BBC or CNN have not picked upon this yet.

No rain, a few clouds and it's been bloody hot in CM.
