Australian attacked and robbed at his South Pattaya Apartment.

In the early hours of Monday Morning, Police Lieutenant Colonel Tanagrit from Pattaya Police Station was assigned to a case of assault and theft of a foreigner. The Officer began at the scene of the crime, a 2nd floor apartment at the Bayview Condominium located in Soi 4 off the Pratamnuk Road in South Pattaya.

The owner of the apartment is Mr. Trevor Newton Small aged 60, a retired Judge from Australia. He was rushed to the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya following the attack during which he sustained 10 stab wounds to his upper body. In the victims room, the knife, thought to have been used in the attack was found on the floor and evidence of a struggle was found and it appeared that the attacker had searched the victims belongings before they left.

The alarm was raised when the victim contacted Security Guards at the Complex who in-turn contacted the Police. According to the Guards, Mr. Small was known to have taken Thai Men back to his Condo on a regular basis. Police are unsure at this time what, if anything has been stolen and are unable to question the victim who is currently in a serious condition in Hospital. Police will follow up the case in the coming days.

I don't think nationality has anything to do with it. Lifestyle choice seems to be a more common factor.

(I could ask though, if there is a shortage of sheep down under and maybe that would help to explain things ?) :o

I didn't realise that your sexual preferences meant it was OK to be stabbed & robbed.

The only concern I would have about this person (apart from hoping he recovers his health ) :o is was he one of the Pedophile network in Australia that was exposed some years ago with members of the judiciary as part of the network???(recently they even scooped up cops & teachers in a child porn web network)

By the way , it is New Zealand that need the sheep .

:D

Sadly, when it's a gay guy who is beaten or robbed, it's quite funny and little is said. When it is some bloke whose g/f or wife has been instrumental in his demise or serious injury, then it's considered a serious and sad case.

Progress is slow sometimes.

My reference to "life style" choices wasn't meant to single out gay people.

People that are in hetero relationships end up in the news once in awhile too. It just seems to me that (in Pattaya at least) that certain groups end up making the headlines more often than others.

We often hear news about bad things happening to people that seem to (often) occur on Beach Road, or involve a girl/khatoey picked up from Beach Road, usually "in the early hours". No where near as many stories involve a girl/khatoey picked up elsewhere in the city (at any time). It happens, just not as often (it seems) as it does with people in/from that area.

People that get involved with drugs (buying/selling/using) often end up in the news as well. As do those who seem to prefer their companions to be somewhat younger than is legal.

We didn't get a lot of details in this article. It could be he was just the innocent victim of a totally random attack. Lifestyle choice may have had nothing to do with it.

Like most stories that appear here, we are unlikely to ever get more details, so may never find out what really happened. It's kind of frustrating at times. Never any follow up.

And if Libya hadn't "fluffed up" the headline, most would probably have passed reading it.

Precisely!

The headlines contained the facts of the case, no more.

Are you irked because the victim is Australian?

Or are you irked because; Quote: (Pattaya One News):

"Mr. Small was known to have taken Thai Men back to his Condo on a regular basis" ?

I am not irked (great word that btw) by the alleged sexual preferences of an Antipodean ex- judiciary.

Are you irked that you never had a job on a real, gutter-press gossip tabloid?

Are you irked that you were never a 'legal eagle'? "the facts of the case".... give me a break.

Obviously you are not irked by the possibility of someone taking issue with you manipulating a second-hand quote and passing it off as verbatim?

Fluffer!

Well if i read the article well it says Thai men and no mention of boys or underage activity.

The fact is that it is a very serious crime where the victim was stabbed numerous times and is lucky to be alive.

Pattaya has way too many of these sort of crimes.

If you're an Australian and had anything to do with the judiciary, then you'd understand why little sympathy is forthcoming from some.

Any update on the judge's condition?
