If anyone ever sees me in one of these or a vios you have my permission to shoot me as i will have gone mad,. the crap cars we are served up with here are puke !, i have no doubt it is a reliable car, however it has as much character as a bearded pipe smoking science teacher,.!,.in the uk you have to be over 70 to own one ,( or should be ),. :o .

The point is this isn't the UK. So unless you want to spend 3 or 4 time the amount to buy a European car that has a bit more design flair, you are left with no choice. Get used to it or walk.

Hi,

As the thread was opened when the new City went just out, has anybody bought one recently (special pricie ?), and how that is feel driving it.

Just curious as I cannot find it for rent in Chiangmai. As I actually drive a new Vios, I am looking to buy a similar car in 2009 ... Yaris or new City maybe...

Any new City driver around ?

Philippe

Bought one 1st December - no special price but the usual freebies thrown in, mats, tints, etc. I like it to drive, prefer it to Vios which I have rented from time to time. Previously had a Jazz but hate the new front styling, so went for the new City instead which seems just as good, the engine actually feels a bit more responsive with the 5 speed auto rather than the old Jazz CVT and fuel consumption seems pretty good in the 1st month.

Yup, we also recently visited the dealer on rama 4, and got the whole picture on these. we've decided on the 2nd from the top model. the only difference for 50,000 baht is that the rear seats fold down to make it like a jazz.

It's the best looking and best performing car in its class right now.

City is the most popular red plated car at the moment. there are so many of them that I don't understand how Toyota still outsells Honda.

Toyota won't outsell Honda for long in this class. Honda nailed it. It's a 135 Bimmer at a fraction of the cost. Vios is very cheap in the interior fittings. City is quite upscale.
