You really are the most stupid individual I've ever seen on this forum. And that really is saying something.

You mean it was you before and I stole your pole position ? :o

Actually there are serious reasons to believe these poor guys blow themselves up by poorly manufactured home-made pipe bombs. And as far as my source is concerned, the police don't manufacture their own ammunitions …

Live by the sword …

HUH?

You come up with the strangest ideas .... they created pipebombs and then blew up their own feet?

It's exactly what I said. The police didn't send these bombs, honestly there was enough reporters at the scene, we would already have the pictures, don't you think? We can't accuse the local press of bias in favor of the police, can we?

Furthermore it wouldn't be the first time that a would-be terrorist blow himself up with his own device.

No, you really are the most stupid poster I've seen on this forum. And without doubt the most hateful.

Khunying Pornthip assures that lost leg was not caused by tear gas

Khunying Pornthip Rojanasunand, a respected forensic scientist, has affirmed the loss of a leg during this morning's police clash with protesters was not the result of tear gas usage.

Director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science Khunying Pornthip stated that many injuries were sustained during this morning's clash between police and People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protesters at the Parliament building, including one case that required the amputation of a leg.

Khunying Pornthip, however, remarked that she has not been able to examine the incident as it is still in the hands of police but assured that from her observations of the news photos, the lost leg could not have been the result of tear gas usage. She stated that the injury could have only been sustained from a much more powerful explosive.

The CIFS Director stated that she will have to wait until the situation has calmed to decide whether or not to return a request from the PAD to investigate the incident.

She stated however that she is confident forensic medical workers assigned to the event will be able to sufficiently deal with the case.

Khunying Pornthip said that she would have to receive approval from the Ministry of Justice before taking part in the investigation.

The CIFS Director said that detailed photograph evidence should be collected for the time being if she is to review the matter later. She also commented that such police dispersal tactics do not usually result in injuries of this magnitude.

I doubt that the Ministry of Justice let her official check it.

It's a real shame they didn't apply TAWP's vertical leg and pressure application techniques to stop the bleeding. Might have saved the leg!

If that pictures is ANY indication there was nothing to save and no teargas canister did that.

That is a shattered limb.

I did see on TV what clearly looked like shrapnel wounds on people brought into the hospital.

Again NOT teargas.

I won't say SPECIFICALLY that a 3rd party launched a riffle fired grenade into the mix.

But it certainly is possible. And certainly would significantly up the ante.

And the actual firing need not have been from the police lines.

Army friends of Thaksins have access to this type of weapon for sure.

Police fire more tear gas on demonstrators

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat presented his government's policy statement at a sparsely-attended Parliament Tuesday as police lobbed fresh rounds of tear gas Tuesday at anti-government demonstrators gathered at Bangkok's Royal Plaza, after tear gas was earlier used to disperse thousands of protesters at the nearby Parliament.

There was no immediate report of casualties, but as clouds of tear gas drafted by the equestrian statue of the

revered monarch King Rama V, scenes of discord and disorder witnessed the loss of the traditional harmony

of the setting.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Chai Chidchob adjourned the parliamentary session after the premier delivered his policy statement to Parliament which 164 opposition Democrat MPs and 40 senators boycotted.

Some PAD protesters reportedly locked the gate at the only entrance to the House, temporarily delaying the legislators' departure.

Pol. Maj-Gen. Amnuay Nimmano, Metropolitan police chief, said the police had to use tear gas to control the situation, but affirmed that the police only used tear gas without rubber bullets or broken glass.

Meanwhile, Democrat Party spokesman Dr. Booranuch Samutrak said the government had lost its legitimacy to deliver the state policy, saying that the morning clash between police and protesters was against the

government's promise which vowed to solve the political turmoil through peaceful means.

At about 6am, police used tear gas to disperse anti-government protesters rallying at Parliament after the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) marched to Parliament on Monday night, extending its rally from Government House, and vowing to stop the government from delivering its policy statement.

Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat took office September 25.

Unarmed, but heavily-protected with helmets, face masks and shields, hundreds of police moved through the barricades erected by the PAD activists overnight. Some 100 rounds of tear gas were fired into the ranks of the PAD demonstrators shortly after dawn, and the massed police formations moved across the site.

69 people were injured in the fray, including one man who reportedly lost his leg due to an exploding tear gas canister.

Meanwhile, PAD core leaders called on its supporters in provinces to join the protest at Government House while telling their supporters to stay clam inside the Government House compound.

PAD core leader Sondhi Limthongkul told demonstrators at Government House that the rally at Parliament would be their "final battle" and would not back off.

He also called for donations of water and medicines, particularly eye drops, to treat protesters who suffered from tear gas.

And that after:

HM the Queen worried over police's use of tear gas on protesters

HM the Queen is very worried on the police's use of tear gas to disperse anti-government protesters at the Parliament.

"HM the Queen is very worried that the incident happened and that many people were injured during the incident," the director of the Vachira Hospital said.

The Queen donated Bt100,000 to Vachira Hospital where many injured protesters were treated.

The Royal Household Bureau informed the hospital to foot the bills of the injured protesters with the bureau.

Obviously an escalation, who will win...................... democratically elected Govt., or PAD....... Never mind about Thaksin, he's in the UK watching with interest. But Thai Govt. needs to break this impasse, to continue to legitimately Govern the Country in these new economic times, AND to be seen to do so..................................OR be consigned to oblivion by Other Nations..............

PM flees out of Parliament

He left the assembly hall through the Building 3 and climbed down the stairs to the ground floor. He then climbed over the fence to the Vimarnmek Mansion.

Perhaps it is indeed fortunate that is wife, Yaowapa, is a banned MP and thus missed out on being in Parliament today... I somehow can't imagine her doing that...

Well we need not wqorry that Somchai snagged a testicle going over the fence.

Yaowapa has long since kept them at home in a jar for her amusement..

I doubt that the Ministry of Justice let her official check it.

There is a reason that she earned the title KhunYing and that is to prevent being blocked by political maneuvering in doing her job!

You recall when Thaksin fabricated a corruption case against her. Which was so obvious, to block her, that even the Thaksin supporters must have seen it.

Chavalit resigns as deputy prime minister

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Chavalit-Res...ni-t216407.html

Please slow down the news from happening... it was difficult enough to keep up with this thread... :o

Can't say that I blame him! Who would want to be in a government that isn't preapproved by the PAD thugs.

This offensive was classic Chavalit, take a look at his history! Now he resigns, IMHO he should stay on and drive the mongrel PAD back to Sanam Luang which they can have, but Gov House and the Parliment are NOT the places they should be allowed to occupy.

Could anyone with just an ounce of morals and intelligence stop calling this gov't "democratically elected"....please? Please?

Agreed. Most popular amongst Thais, arguably. But, perhaps best not to mix up the terms "democratic" and "Thailand" in the same sentence.

If the Police were shooting limbs off people at a demonstration in New Zealand we would most likely see the Commissioner forced to resign and several officers involved forced into early retirement if not put in prison.

Why shouldn't Thai's have the same expectations for the Police force?

Yes they did already.....just the remaining one call it like that and you might not believe it some of the remaining are the same nationality as you.

(which I can't understand as they should be able to understand the facts easier than Farangs)

What demonstration? What are the PAD demonstrating other than their total lack of humility and kindness toward their fellow Thais?

Errr, PAD never occupies the Parliament. You are probably smoking something out of Thaksin's ass, I guess.

Apparently they have done one better, they have surrounded it, with many MP's inside.....

@sunrise07

You clearly have no idea what a demonstration is.

Everyone knows you are a troll so why do you even try anymore? Doesn't it take the fun out of it when you know that everyone who responds to you has lost all motivation to get upset at your meaningless drivel?

Did they teach you this line at the PAD internet rally on Saturday? It's getting rather tired. Sure some posters who disagree with my posts have resorted to rather juvenile tactics and inane responses. I don't in any way take it personally. I'm sure they treat others in the same manner in their daily lives. I say a little prayer for them each morning at the local wat and this practice of metta brings happiness to my heart!

Thaksin must be delighted that things are finally going his way. Now he has got rid of Samak and installed his original choice as PM he can call the shots and he loves anything to do with violence. What's the point of having power, even from behind the scenes, if you don't use it? He has a new war chest after selling Man City at a time when most people are strapped for cash. Now he will move towards the end game of changing the constitution to get rid of all his legal encumbrances and make a come back as PM. The threat of conflagration is not a concern to him as he has nothing to lose and everything to gain and he and his family are a safe distance. Apart from his natural love for it, chaos could benefit him in real ways: to demonstrate to the UK government that it is not safe for him to return; and create conditions where the PAD loses its support and even city people clamour for a strong dear leader to come back.

Not wanting to interfere, what the PAD are doing cannot be called demonstration. They have gone much father then that.

PM climbs over fence to leave Parliament

(BangkokPost.com) - Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat had to climb over the fence of the Parliament to leave the site on Tuesday afternoon after People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) blocked all entrances to the venue to prevent all the cabinet ministers, MPs and senators from leaving the ground.

Mr Somchai, accompanied by five or six followers, left the venue by going through a senate building before climbing over the fence using a ladder.

He passed through to the Wimanmek Palace, which was situated next to the Parliament

Wounds are not caused by tear gas, but powerful explosives : doctors

Vachira Hospital's director Dr Wanchai Charoenchokthavee said the protesters's wounds were not likely to be from tear gas.

Wachira Hospital doctors are treating several protesters who were injured after police fired tear gas into the anti-government protesters at the Parliament on Monday morning.

Police insisted that they used only tear gas to disperse the protesters who blocked the Parliament so that Members of Parliament from attending Somchai government's policy address on Tuesday.

"Judging from wounds of the victims we saw in the operation room, we believed that the wounds did not cause by tear gas," Wanchai said.

The doctors said the wounds were caused by powerful explosives which can destroy tissues and bones.

Despite police insisted of using tear gas, several photos showed one protester lost his leg and another protester lost his foot.

Wanchai said a total of 47 people received treatment at the hospital. Most of them had wounds on the bodies.

Santi Larnwong, 22, said he suffered several wounds on his body but will continue joining protests against the government.
