Brown Book With New Car

Featured Replies

I just picked up my new Honda and as part of the package there was a small brown book with maybe 40 pages. The first six were filled out with what looked like previous cars purchased and the owner's signature? My car was added and I was asked to sign it. I thought the dealer would keep the book but it was included in all my papers.

Any ideas?

Never heard of a "Brown" book.

Cars/Trucks I think are always "Blue" and motorbikes use a "Green" book

May be the registration book of the RED numberplates?

May be the registration book of the RED numberplates?

Yup, I reckon that's it if it has details of other vehicles. Should have your red plate number on the front.

You will need to produce it for police checks and hand it back when you get your white plates.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I had one of these with a rental car about two years ago from Pattaya, was told by the hire company that you should write in details of each journey you make. I had my gf of the time write 'Pattaya to Chaing Mai and other places enroute' as a cover-all just in case we were stopped, we weren't.

That's it! Thanks so much. My limited Thai and the dealer's limited English was making it impossible for me to understand.
