But I can use the word 'orgasm', right?

Shit Bendix, it doesn't even matter to me if you have an orgasm. I'm sure your hand will enjoy it.

Persistent little bugger aren't you Bendix?

:o

Has anyone seen Kaboom - The Suicide Bombing Game?

Not to belittle the serious nature of this topic... but it is related... kind of... :o

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

Just be careful of words like p*nis though, the rules will only relax so far.

I've always found it curious that it using the word orgasm or p*nis can cause posts to be deleted, yet this stunning little emoticon is part of the thaivisa lexicon . . . . . :o

That reminds me. Where IS Clayton today?

I've been in bed all day, as I was working last night & will be doing so again tonight. Hopefully, I will receive some good news along the way. If so, I might even buy a few fireworks on the way, I don't usually 'celebrate' Guy Fawkes night, indeed, since the Wife's been in the UK, I've never bothered to take her along to a bonfire, but, tomorrow I might have another reason to launch a few rockets in the air.

I suppose in a way it would be kind of ironic if they execute them on the 5th November, it could even start a new trend, instead of throwing a Guy Fawkes on the bonfire, why not an Amrozi, Mukhlas & Imam Samudra? Quite a few bonfires already use a 'Bin Laden', so, why not. :D

I suppose a good reason to execute them tonight would be the US elections - that's bound to be the main story, so, will the Indonesians use the opportunity to bury bad news? I guess we'll soon find out.

I've often wondered about that one myself.

Right, you agree on something, either the sky is falling, or it is time to close the thread, me thinks.

Good Luck

Moss

I agree.

The day I agree with CS is a day I never want to see.

Good point, I am in Indo at the moment and it seems everyone I speak to is thrilled to bits that Obama is the president elect. They seem to have even forgotten I am Australian and have taken to talking to me again.

Having said that, I just wish we could all put this behind us and move on. I wonder how possible that will be for the three murderers and their alto egos (read CS).

to let them rot until they die is much better then a quick death in my opinion .

I have to agree that life in prison would be my choice so the swine can not become martyrs.

However, not sure the administration in the country can be trusted to keep them inside for that long....................So kill them.

This private forum is here for more reasoned and open discussion of what can sometimes be contentious issues.

As we know the crackpots and trolls come out of the woodwork on these types of threads posted in General, and they deteriorate to the point they need to be closed.

Lets not have a situation where these posters follow a subject here to stir more of their shit and force closures.

The deletion of posts by the arrogant, persistant and booring extremists like seymore and bendix would be the best solution.

:o

I'm usually 100% anti death penalty but I'm prepared to agree with these guys being shot to show the people, who said it would never happen, that responsible Muslim countries are prepared to treat terrorists as criminals rather than heroes.

Well being American, I am not necessarily anti-death penalty, nor particularly opposed to it in this case. What I find distasteful to the extreme are those who seem to take delight in their deaths, some kind of weird vicarious thrill. I suppose. To find delight in the torture and death (since this is what some posters suggested in the thread in the SE Asia forum) is, IMO, just twisted.

And then there is the more disturbing behavior displayed in that anyone who finds this attitude distasteful, or disagrees with it is somehow not only sympathetic to the bombers but respectful of them. I, myself, was accused of this and find this kind of thinking to be part and parcel of a greater malaise of "my opinion is the only right one there is"

I've seen it in PAD threads where if you don't like Thaksin you must be pro-PAD and if you don't like PAD you must be pro-Thaksin. This kind of black or white, us against them thinking is, IMO, immature, unrealistic and arrogant.

I believe in the death penalty, but I don't enjoy it.

Spending one's last few years in prison dreading a violent, imminent death is probably all the torture these pieces of s___ deserve. :o

Just seems to me that 99% of people are executed for not being able to afford a decent lawyer.

Plenty of exceptions I know, about one in a hundred. :o

You may be right, but I'm pretty sure that Charles Manson deserves it. :o

The death penalty certainly is the ultimate & for the vast majority, the worst fate possible. For those who oppose it & say that life in prison is a worse punishment, should the day of reckoning arrive on their own doorstep, given the choice of a march into the forest to be shot, or, spending their life in prison, I wonder how many would opt for the former? I suggest very few. In such circumstances the survival instinct will kick in - human beings will cling on to life no matter how bad it gets, whilst there's life there's hope.

I have to agree that life in prison would be my choice so the swine can not become martyrs.

Martyrdom doesn't necessarily require the individual to die. Giving up ones personal freedom for a cause can be considered sufficient to attain martyrdom.

Nope..........Sorry, martydom is death for a cause, Websters, Oxford, take your pick.

I'll take the Cambridge dictionary, martyrdom is when someone suffers, or, is killed for their beliefs. Other sources would argue that they must die in the act. I'm not going to bicker with about this with you, but, one thing's for sure, whether the Bali bombers die at the hands of the firing squad tonight, or, in forty years time in their prison cells, those who support them will consider them to be martyrs.

Personally, I don't believe in God, I don't believe in paradise & I don't recognise martyrdom. The Bali bombers are going to be disappointed, they'll find nothing after death, unfortunately, neither them, or others, who are sufficiently deluded to believe otherwise will know anything about it.

Personally, I don't believe in God, I don't believe in paradise & I don't recognise martyrdom.

Maybe you don't, but millions of people do.

Indeed they do & that continues to be the root cause of many of the world's troubles.

Oh no, not the 'blame religion for the worlds woes' brigade!

I'm not going to bicker with about this with you....

The boards leading bickerer has just denied his true faith of bickering.

Dear SBK, I don't agree that being American has anything to do with being anti- or pro-death penalty, but that it has everything to do with the values that one is brought-up with.

I'm of the generation from in and just after World War II, brought-up in a Belgian catholic environment and in those turbulant days the "an eye for an eye" attitude was very common.

Nothwithstanding that, I grew out of this and abhor violence in any form.

However I do believe that if one performs such inhumane acts as to kill over 200 innocent people just to make a religious or political point, then that person forfeits his right to a humane treatment and for all I care should be made an example of, in whatever form the local government deems fit.

Just my 2 cents

cheers

onzestan

onzestan, I didn't mean that Americans are necessarily pro-death penalty but that being more exposed to it perhaps we have a more tolerant view of it than countries that have not practiced the death penalty for years.

Personally I am of the opinion that the death penalty should only be used in very very rare cases.

Again, I'd have to say what bothers me the most out of this whole thing is the personal enjoyment some members find in the deaths of others. Regardless of how I feel of whether or not these people "deserve" the death penalty, I, for one, could never take pleasure or enjoyment in the death of another human being.

Well, it's a done deal now:
