Busy Busy Day For The Tv Gang !

Featured Replies

They may be asking for over-time at this rate !

A quick check, just for giggles, showed that almost every single Mod, Super Mod and Admin have been on today. Only 1 Admin and 1 S-Mod missing out of a total of 31.

Not sure if Honorary Members are still Mods as well. If so, add 3 more to the total.

I wonder, is it possible to figure out how many posts have been made over the last 2 days ? Looking at some of the threads that have literally exploded in a few short hours, these last couple of days may have been the busiest ever (except perhaps for the period just after the Tsunami, but there were far fewer members back then as well).

I'll bet it has been the busiest period ever for deleted posts though !

What other records are being set/broken right now ? Most Warnings in a 1 Day/Week/Month period ? Most Bannings ? Most New Member Sign-ups ?

We haven't broken the one day record for most users online at once though. The record still stands at 12,097 for 6 Feb 08 (the day Thaksin returned to Thailand I think ?).

(ps: looks like roughly 91 new sign-ups today so far and about 150 over the last 2 days, though a couple were banned immediately.) :o

Yeah man, 2,000 people on board, and it is nearly midnight, midweek. george pays beer and a half for overtime.

I doubt we will have 12,000 watching at once, though.

and even THAT is useless to me :o

The stats for most users online is pretty much irrelevant - the vast majority of those would be search engine robots / spiders / crawlers, and their comings and goings are completely unaffected by events such as coups, returning former Prime Ministers, etc.

I don't know. The previous record was right after the tsunami (though I think that was only 6,000 or so at once). If the majority were bots and such, wouldn't the number of "users" on at one time keep growing and growing (as the net keeps expanding and more and more bots and such are added) ?

It would seem too much of a coincidence that they would spike at the same time a major news worthy event was being discussed. (I don't know how those bots/spiders/crawlers really work though)

That's a little bit contradictory isn't it, if bots/spiders/crawlers are unaffected by events, then the surge of viewer numbers after significant news events must be caused by real people having a look, and wouldn't that then make the most users on-line quite relevant.

Yes, there'd be some extra activity due to normal people logging on, but certainly not 12,000 or so.

It has been very busy and continues to be so. Still better than sitting around going "boring, boring, boring, I am so bored" guess.

Can only hope things settle down soon.

Do we get paid? Really? I'm owed some back wages :o
