Before I moved to Thailand I used to drive AUDI and owned a number of different models from S6, S6 Avant, RS6 Avant and A4 2.5 TDI. I never had any bad experience, very reliable cars, well built and good to drive. Perhaps not the most comfortable or the most nimble car, though.

Just recently I bought an A6 3.0 TDI here in Thailand and after 10'000 km I have to say I love it. Actually I wanted to check out the new A4, but then the dealer offered me the A6 for a more than competitive price, so I took it.

I would believe the new A4 is also a good car, although maybe lacking a bit power, but that's my opinion. (just enough is not enough, only more than enough is enough).

You should ask for a test drive and see for yourself how you feel the car. Certainly way better than any Toyota, Nissan or Honda they sell here, but also much more expensive.

which one? My US company owns them in our shop : B6 B7 B8 A4, B6 B7 S4, C5 RS6, MK V GTI MK V R32.

Here is my previous A4. It has a large list of mods...ran the car on many track days and it is still strong after 60,000miles. Maintenance has always been a top priority for me.

Car isnt bad at all. B8 A4 should be good. The only downside is the weak CVT transmission. They are not so reliable. You just have to be good on your maintenance. If you get a TT, parts will be hard to find. Honestly, I havnt found a capable tech here who can use his VAS tool at all.

Anyways, I do tune them here and in the US as well. I am about to finish my GTI project which should shoot around 270hp. In the past, I have succesfully tuned Audi TTs here in Thailand with power up to 244hp in S mode and 383nm in D mode. This is with just an exhaust and my chip.

I think they are great cars but thier new price here and the 'off a cliff' style depreciation they suffer here make them a poor new buy IMO.. Maybe I am just too tight.. The way that older second hand models are priced is just silly, cheaper than old Hondas and other stuff thats really poor.
