Mofa In Chiang Rau For Affirmation Letter

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have an affirmation of freedom to marry from the cosulate in Chiang Mai. I'll probably be in CM again soon. Is there a ministry of foreign affairs office in either CM or CR where I can get the translation certified as a valid document for marriage registration. I sure hope I won't have to go all the way to Lak Si in Bangkok. Any ideas would be appreciated

Edit - I got the topic title wrong. It should read 'Chiang Rai'

Can only be done at the foreign office, consular section in BKK.

Note that the translation service also will offer to do the legalisation for you, so you could do it all by mail.

You need to get the affirmation leter translated into Thai. The original and translation you then submit to the MFA for legalisation.

Your embassy website may give some adresses of translation bureaus you can contact. I know the US embassy website has a list of translation agencies. They can arrange everything for you by mail.

Just contact a translation service and they will take care of it. The legalisation itself is about 800 baht. Any extra is the fee the translation service will charge you.

Have a nice wedding.

I have a buddy in BKK that does certified translation and gets lots of farangs and Thai ladies married off. Just Google "AC Services" .. and talk to Tod.
