Did You Know That There Was Such A Thing As.....

Featured Replies

I did not not know that.

I thought you were talking about small farts, and Fartlek-Running, small liquid farts...

but...

"speed play" in Swedish, is a form of conditioning which puts stress mainly on the aerobic energy system due to the continuous nature of the exercise. The difference between this type of training and continuous training is that the intensity or speed of the exercise varies, meaning that aerobic and anaerobic systems can be put under stress. Most fartlek sessions last a minimum of 45 minutes and can vary from aerobic walking to anaerobic sprinting. Fartlek training is generally associated with running, but can include almost any kind of exercise. - Wiki

Well, I have said this before but, ya live and learn!

Well, I have said this before but, ya live and learn!

Even if you don't want to !! :o

I can honestly say that should I, God forbid, ever suffer a major brain trauma and take up this activity I would not tell any of my mates about it. I would not like to feel responsible for the myriad of injuries sustained from the violent, explosive bursts of laughter.

I'm just off for a session of Fartlekking. :o

mmmm open to mispronouciation that one.

Now Fartlighting is something completely different.

I regret looking up the meaning now, it's one of those words I like to put away and treasure. Maybe casually drop it into conversation occasionally.

Do we really need to know everything? Understand every word and have an explanation for every occurrence?

^ If any of the regulars in any of the pubs that I've frequented during the past 10 years or so were to answer that, the answer would be: Yes.
