helo, I am in NON - O Multi Entry visa and now i holds share of a company which we setup in bangkok already. The company is registered and we did all the formalities of the government.

now my question is how shall i get work permit?

can the banks accept me to sign the documents for them if i dont have work permit?

is there any easy ways for the share holders of company's to get WP? or do i have to apply as a normal foriegn staff?

by the way it seems the forum is bit slower to get reply. maybe all our guys are enjoying songkran festival already

Being a shareholder, even a big shareholder, of a company gives no special privileges when it comes to getting a work permit.

The banks don’t care whether you have a work permit when you sign cheques, but the Labour Department does.

helo to get work permit they say we should have a medical certificate from a first-class licensed physician in Thailand.

My question is if they will accept a medical certificate from a Clinic? or it should be only a hospital?

As long as signed by a doctor it should not matter - at least that was the case with Immigration. I have never had for work permit so can not offer more than that.

my marriage is not registered in Thailand and i have forieng marriage certificate. If i do marriage registration in Thailand and get thai Marriage Certificate do i get any special marriage visa? Is it a 1 year visa or 90 days visa i get?

If you are already married you can not marry again - one of the requirement for marriage in Thailand is certification by your Embassy that you are single. You should get your marriage paperwork translated and registered at MFA. I assume you are married to a Thai? If so you could show that paperwork at any Consulate to obtain non immigrant O visa single entry and some will issue multi entry valid for one year of 90 day visits. If you can show a bank account with 400k in your name for two or three months you could extend your stay on a yearly basis.

If you are married a Thai and the marriage was done outside of Thailand your wife still needs to have the marriage entered in her house book and ID card. To do this will require a translation of the marriage and certification of the translation by the Ministry of Forign Affairs (MFA).

The above will need to be done before you will be able to get an extension of stay based upon marriage ati immigration.

hi i didnt talk about marrying again. thats stupid to do two times isnt it? i was talking about registering it since our marriage is registered only in my country but in thai we are not registered. I gave a try to this last year when i was here then after the translation of my marriage certificate when we went to register they asked to stamp once again from the embassy on the back of the marriage certificate.

Today i completed the stamp from embassy and went to foriegn ministry again and i got the marriage registered. But still i didnt get the marriage certificate. They asked me to go to her city which is Khon Kaen to get the marriage certificate done. So i am departing tomorrow to khon kaen and will do the border run to Laos also.

I got two questions for today.

1. i arrived bangkok on 27th February 2009 and 90 days will be till May 27th right? the stamp is not clear.

2. Once my one year multi entry visa based on marriage is over can i again apply for the same type of visa? showing the marriage is being registered in thailand and i got the marriage certificate from thailand can i get the NON Immigrant O visa?

thanks guys for the help.

1. Sounds right but not doing your math for you.

2. A marriage does not have to be registered in Thailand to obtain a visa. Once you are married you are married worldwide. As for getting a new multi entry non immigrant O visa you should be able to obtain - but some Consulates are easier than others.

Why get a visa when you can get a 1 year extenson of stay at immigration.

You jsut need to show 40,000 baht monthly income or 400,000 baht in the bank for 2 months.

Also since you are married to Thai the number of employees your company needs for your work permit is redusced to 2 and some of the financial requirements are also reduced by one half also.

if i dont get the visa extension i have 90 days stamp only in my passport so i get workpermit valid for 90 days only or the workpermit will be 1 years? the work permit and the visa is not attached to each other? how does this works?

If you have an extension based upon marriage it is not tied to a work permit. An extension based upon employment is tied to haveing a job and a work permit.

An entry from a visa is not tied to having a work permit because the entry was based upon a visa.

Latest reports are that work permits are being issued for 2 years at some offices.

i had a conversation with a guy from Sunbelt Asia. He said even though i have 90 days visa i can get 1 year work permit. They have a new rule for that. He said when he arrived in December he also had 90 days but he got 1 year work permit.

so to extend my visa based on employment what are the requirements? can anyone tell me?

lopburi3 seems not write to my posts now. is he away from me for the avatar i have?

I don't even see your avatar as have them turned off. I answer when I have a response - but others have helped you so really no need - and they have better employment information than I. Extension from employment is not likely for you in the short term as company paperwork has to be filed for a year I believe, you have to meet income requirements depending on your nationality (unless exempt such as teachers). The basic information, although dated, is still on the immigration web site at http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/ba...hp?page=service
