Sorry if this question has been asked many times before - but just want to make sure we do the correct thing!

If you do a visa run (person has 90 days visa) expires 16th September 2009 - he is awaiting confirmation of his ED Visa application at Thai Language School - the school has said the paper work might not be ready before his visa expires so do a visa run - they said just go to the border and get a 15 day stamp - having never done this before we want to be sure we do the right thing.

Do we have to change his (flight ticket date) which is 14th September but not sure if we have to show this at the border as proof - it was made for returning to Yangon - but now will be staying here (Thailand) hopefully with his ED Visa for 1 year.

Once we have the documents from the school they have advised us to go to Singapore or Hong Kong to get his Non Imm B so we can continue the application.

We have climbed mountains to get this far to help our son (hopefully one day) he is Burmese so the last thing we want is to get things wrong at this late stage and jeopardise his application. So I do apologise if I ask too many questions.

Thanks to the forum for all the help and advice that has been given in the past - it was much appreciated.

Regards

Samuie :)

It is totally wrong because Burmese do not get visa exempt entries. They have to have a visa to enter the country.

He could probably get a 7 day extension at immigration if that would be long enough to get the paperwork for his visa.

Otherwise he will need to get a new visa.

Before he goes to get a visa you need to check on the requirements for his entry into the country where he is getting it.

The school so far has gotten nothing correct. Hong Kong and Singapore would require him to get a visa before arriving.

Malaysia (free) and Laos (720 baht for visa on arrival) are not a problem but you would need to check with the Thai embassy in either country to confirm that they will issue a visa to him.

Will check this week re correct paperwork etc.. with the school and embassy - I am just pleased I asked for your advice.

This forum is excellent - many thanks again.
